Welcome πŸ™ to the first day of the rest of your life ! Here’s our Morning πŸŒ„ Brew for Sunday, May 24th, as we have reached halftime of the Memorial Day weekend.

School Schedule is Blankl
Travis Osborne and his Bible Verse of the Day :

Psalm 24:10 Who is this King of glory? TheΒ LordΒ of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

Three of the eight Super Regionals will have a dramatic winner take all today, so there will be Softball on TV today.

Kelsey Plum continues her red hot start to the season, dropping 38 on the Aces ! The victory takes the Sparks to 3-3 on the campaign.

Tomorrow, we will break down the paths that the Cavaliers face, starting on Thursday afternoon.

Being in Little Rock today means missing out on a Special Olympics basketball practice. I’m hoping for a great time later today over at Hillsville Elementary School for the group.

Here’s hoping that ” If Necessary is indeed Necessary “! It’s time for Duke University at the University of Arkansas softball !

Game 2 is just minutes away from starting here in Fayetteville, and once again, rain 🌧 will enter into the process.

When you purchase a book of tickets 🎟 to a Super Regional tournament, the one for Game 3 falls under ” if necessary.” Being that Duke is down 1-0, it would be fun for there to be a need to play Game 3 tomorrow.

Another trip to a fantastic place for Top Shelf softball !

Oklahoma and Florida both bounced back to force a Game 3 in their series, and there are five more teams looking to do the same.

More 2 follow….

First Pitch moved back 65 minutes to 5:05 CT

71Β° at 5:05, Duke is the home team

Arkansas 2-run πŸ’£πŸ’£ in the top of the first, lead 2-0. (5:20)

Duke, down in order (5:27)

Top 2nd, Hogs 0 runs, 1 hit & 2 left on (5:40)

End 2nd, loud fly out for Duke to end the inning but once again 3 up and 3 down (5:47)

End Top 3rd – Hogs 0 runs, 2 hits, and 3 left on base. (5:57)

Bottom 3rd – Duke gets a walk, but the runner is stranded. 6:05)

Top 4th – Arkansas scores 2 runs on 2 base hits, two more walks πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈand two left on. Halftime score 4-0.

Bottom 4th – Duke gets its first hit and follows it with a 2-run πŸ’£πŸ’£. End of four, now 4-2 (6:27)

Top 5th – first four Razorbacks reach, now 6-2 and still no outs. Make that fifth straight. Hogs plate six, lead 10 -2

Clever, clever Marketing !!!!

Down to last out if no run scores

6:57 – Wrap, 10-2 in 5

Thanks for another great season !

What does a Saturday morning πŸŒ„ in Hog Country look like ? One has to start with the gigantic ” Mean Looking Hog “

The first pitch isn’t slated until 4 pm central time, so there’s room for exploring the greater Fayetteville area.

That graphic helps with the size of the area.

To help place it, you can take the Trail of Tears 😒 to nearby Oklahoma ( 20+ minutes ).

Morning breakfast spot near the campus.

The Ozark Mountain Daredevils recorded a great deal of music back in the 70s, and two made it to the charts. Jackie Blue, and If you want to get to heaven.

It’s time to get back out there and soak up some more Atmosphere….

Friday was the first full day of Super Regional play, and while the A is for Arkansas, it could also stand for Atmosphere !

Congratulations to the Tennessee Volunteers on making it to the College World Series after sweeping the University of Georgia.

The other 7 Best 2 of 3 series are at 1-0 and both Texas and Oklahoma find themselves in an unusual place entering today as the two powerhouses face an elimination game.

In a lifetime of being at a softball diamond πŸ’Ž, yesterday was an absolute first for me. While I have been at a larger venue out at the College World Series, I have never experienced the atmosphere and patience that I witnessed from the Razorback fans.

First Pitch took place at 11:05 Central time in front of a crowd measured at 3,196. Forty-five minutes later, the grounds crew covered the infield with a tarp.

The rain delay lasted four hours and ten minutes, not a typo. When play resumed at 4:00 pm local time, the crowd was there minus just a few people.

Arkansas turned a 3-2 deficit into a 14-5 victory over Duke, but the story was the crowd. They were energetic from start to finish, and they had set routines to respond to every single thing that took place!

They even borrowed from Wrigley Field by throwing the Duke home run balls back onto the field. They made their normal Pig sounds and even wore colorful hats when certain players stepped to the plate.

The SEC is not just about football anymore, and the NIL has changed life as we know it. The league secured nine of the 16 spots for this weekend, with three of the pairings being SEC vs. SEC.

Arkansas has never made it out to OKC, but that could change today when they start back up at 4 pm. I can only imagine what that celebration would look like.
