Thursday, May 28th is the date for the Region 2B Softball tournament quarterfinals. Alan Knight and his Lady Panthers team are currently holding down the #4 spot.
That day, #3 will host #6 & #4 will host #5, meaning if things stay the same, Page County High School Softball would host Fort Defiance at Alan Knight Field.
To say that I want to make that drive ๐ and announce that game for Alan and his team is an understatement. But there is a great deal of ball that has to be played between now and then. We need to keep in mind that the Region only takes the top 6 teams, so the spot is far from guaranteed. Today, the team is scheduled to play the Class 3 runner-up from last season, Turner – Ashby, and that game is pending the weather.
The Hokie team is coached by Chris Carter, and the roster is full of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders.
Twelve players dot the roster with the makeup โ๏ธ between boys (7) and girls (5). One of the five girls ๐ง is one of our nine grandchildren, Maddie.
The group plays in two different seasons of the year, so this is the seventh time that Chris has coached this particular group of youngsters.

Math ๐งฎ is her favorite subject in school and recently landed on the AB Honor Roll. Proud moment recently when Maddie had an essay published with the subject being Martin Luther King and kindness.
The drive from Luray to Beckley will be 3 & 1/2 hours and will begin shortly after the end of the second 20 minute half..
The we love โค๏ธ Maddie Fan Club will include her mother ๐ฉ Christina, Great Uncle Wayne, grandfather, and two sisters, Ana(12) and Melody (11). I guess we like her head coach as well!
