99 miles is the distance between Carroll County High School 🏫 and our friends at James River High. All four of our Diamond πŸ’Ž teams are about to leave The Hill

The Soccer ⚽️ teams took their turns with the Knights on Monday night with the Cavaliers taking 2 out of 3 from JRHS and Tennis 🎾 has to sit this one out as they have no opponents. So that leaves us four games to be played on the ball diamonds today and it happens to be that all four are taking place up in Buchanan.

On the Softball side of things this will be the first of two meetings between the two teams. Weather postponed the initial games and they will take place at Cavalier Park during the final week of the regular season.

James River advanced to the Class 2 State Championship game last year, falling short to Tazewell in the finals. The two clubs split last season with the visiting team winning both times.

Carroll County (13-1, 6-1) controls their own fate in regards to the Three Rivers District regular season title. But the two upcoming games with the Knights will go a long way in deciding the two teams that will meet in the District Championship game.

On the Baseball ⚾️ side of things, Carroll County already hosted JRHS. The teams met a couple of Saturdays ago

Four games to be played roughly 300 yards apart but 99 miles from The Hill. Dedicated parents and family πŸ‘ͺ members are all making the effort to find a way to make the second longest trip that we make be just a little more bearable.

Having the Cavaliers play well and represent themselves in a Classy manner will make the drive πŸš— home more enjoyable. Let’s go with anticipation being the deciding factor for the ride up.

The Golden Bears 🐻 drew the Early Bird 🐦 special on Thursday morning in Chillicothe so Coach Ness is trying to help our team adjust because the Early Bird gets the worm !

Opening Day in the River States Conference Baseball ⚾️ tournament is set for this Thursday and the action 🎬 gets underway at 9am. Not a typo, first pitch for Game #1 of 4 opening day games is 9:00.

The game day routine starts roughly three hours before first pitch so that puts us at 6am. How do you get your players to adjust their sleep schedules that dramatically ?

The answer is you start the curving process on Tuesday morning πŸŒ„.

The crack of dawn is the expression that folks use when their day is going to have to begin early.

Shawnee State is the #3 seed and we landed the #6 seed in the eight team double elimination field. A win in game one has the team playing at 4pm on Friday and a loss would have the team back in the 9am contest on Friday.

Chillicothe, Ohio is the center of it all this week and the hope is to make a run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ at hanging around until Sunday!

We’ve waited a few years for the opportunity to compete in Chillicothe, which is a fun word to pronounce, and now its show time. We are riding a six game winning streak into the opener and this group believes that they belong in The Show that is the RSC Baseball ⚾️ tournament…

Marion Harris shares his take on last night’s 4-1 victory for the Battling Ben Tickles πŸ‘

Ashlyn Newman had four goals. Once again Callie Harris (3 assists)and Harleigh Riggins did an awesome job getting her the ball. However, huge shout out to our defense tonight, especially Savannah Swecker dropping back to the DLine to fill in for the injured Bre Shumate. Karmen Smith did an awesome job guiding our defense. The only JR goal came on a penalty kick.

Soccer ⚽️ Report for the Boys πŸ‘¦from Coach Johnson by way of Marion Harris !
