What do Morgan Osborne, Ava Beamer, and Addie Greene have in common ? On Monday night, all three pitched a complete game for our Lady Cavalier softball program !

Monday night πŸŒ™ was the rare occasion that had all three of our Lady Cavaliers playing the game that they love right here on The Hill.

Our new friend, Ryan, at the Carroll News, was at Cavalier Park as well, so we can have a little fun with our story because he will have a real game story for the Varsity and it will include the JV final.

We will go with the Three Bears 🐻 angle in regards to our pitchers. Being that the Middle School Softball started at 4:30, we will begin with our Baby Bear… Morgan Osborne.

Miss Osborne took to the circle πŸ”΅ for the final time on the west side of The Hill. The MS team was hosting Pulaski County less than 48 hours after the two schools joined Scott Memorial in a round-robin event at Cavalier Park. Osborne earned the victory for CCMS on Saturday, and the eighth grader was up to the challenge again on Monday.

Morgan went the distance in the circle, allowing 4 hits, 0 runs, 6 K’s, and 2 walks in 6 Innings.

CCMS coasted to a 10-0 victory over Pulaski County, and the bulk of the team and Coach Cushman made their way back to Cavalier Park.

Head Coach Nick Cushman added :

” We showed up and saw πŸ‘€ the ball well βž•οΈ we made all of the routine plays. “

The Middle Bear 🐻 goes by the name of Ava Beamer, a freshman who took the ball from Head Coach Terry Warf and simply took care of business.

Beamer went the full five innings, striking out nine while only walking one Maroon Tide player along the way. Galax did scratch out ine run in the top of the second inning, but Carroll County answered with a ten spot in the bottom of the frame to end any doubts as to the outcome.

Warf saw πŸ‘€ all nine spots in the batting order touch home plate against Galax, led by Ashlynn Smith and Mylie Crook. Both touched home plate three times and drove in a run πŸƒβ€β™€οΈeach despite only picking up one base hit between them.

Smith recorded an extremely rare hat πŸ‘’ Trick by reaching first base after being hit by a pitch three straight at bats.

Addie Greene, enjoying her junior year, took the ball from Varsity Head Coach Rick Nester and completed the Trifecta by going seven innings against our neighbors from the west.

While Beamer received her backing without the benefit of big swings, Greene watched πŸ‘€ as her teammates compiled 18 hits while she was recording five strikeouts. Greene finished up by retiring eight of the final nine batters the righty faced.

Bayleigh Allen followed an RBI double by Greene in the bottom of the 1st inning with a rocket πŸš€ shot over the fence in left center to make the score 3-0, and the Lady Cavaliers were off and running.

Brooke Webb had herself a day, picking up an RBI in consecutive at bats, and then Kyra Moser slid into the spot and added her first varsity base hit and RBI. Madison Coleman picked up her first four hit games, which included three RBI and three runs scored.

Allen, who goes by ” Little Debbie,” added to her home run by single handling, retiring the Maroon Tide in the top of the fourth inning.

From Head Coach Rick Nester :

” Just going to give you some info on tonightβ€˜s game. I thought the girls followed the game plan very well. We were going to be aggressive on the basis and Bunting the ball we were trying we were gonna try to keep pressure on Galax early in the game and I thought the girls executed that very well to come in with good approaches at the plate. Many hard hit balls throughout the night brick Webb extra base hit Bayleigh Allen with her home run defensively Addie Green pitched a great game defense played well behind her had a few mistakes but overall, I thought they did a very good job.”

When you total it all up, it’s the Lady Cavaliers finished the night up 41-6…
