Adrienne Harris McGuire checks in after a busy 24 hours as her Lady Cavaliers split with Galax and powerhouse Glenvar.

” A bit of a messy and rainy night on The Hill,  but the girls came out on top. In the first half, Yeili Urbina sent in a beautiful corner that Savannah Swecker finished with a one-touch volley. The girls continued putting lots of pressure on Galaxโ€™s defense, with many opportunities coming very close to going in. In the second half, we had another goal off of a corner kick, but it was called back, so it kept the game at 1-0. With around 10 mins left in the game, Savannah was taken out in the box, which won us a penalty kick. Callie Harris stepped up and buried it to put us up 2-1. It may not have been the best soccer that we had played, but the girls still found a way to get the job done!”

The second half of the back to back saw our Lady Cavaliers travel up to Glenvar to face undefeated Glenvar. The Highlanders remain on track to challenge for the Class 2 State Championship.
