Make no mistake about it, when it comes to soccer, here in Carroll County, we are chasing Glenvar High School. The Highlanders are our measuring stick.
Earlier this season, the varsity Girls π§ Soccer team held Glenvar scoreless for 89 minutes of a match that remained scoreless until the closing seconds of the second overtime.
We live in a world π where the focus is on did we win or not ? I was st the π€ the night of the 1-0 setback, and there was electricity in the air at Tommy Thompson Field. It was days later when I heard about a 6-4 setback that our JV Boys had suffered up in Salem.
My first thought was, four goals by a Cavalier team against Glenvar, in the history of our school π« on The Hill, have we ever had that level of success ?
If this was ESPN instead of ASPN, we would go to the vault and pull out the files to fact-check βοΈ it. But it’s not, so we can’t, but what we can do is talk about the four goals.
Jonni Rosales scored two of those and assisted one, and Dane Huff scored, and Alex Esquivel scored the other off a Dane Huff assist !
Rosales twice put the biscuit in the basket π§Ί against the Big Dogs π, has that ever been done by a Cavalier ?
Huff added a score and a helper !
Yes, at the end of the match, we dropped a 6-4 contest. But kudos to our younger Cavaliers on the advancement !!!
You can catch both of our boys’ teams at home on Monday night !
