Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Have a Blessed Day ππ
Stick around if you are a fan of Diamond π play !

New Kent scores one run πββοΈon one hit and leaves two stranded in the top of the 1st inning.

The first FIVE Falcons have reached, and now it’s 3-1 with no outs. New Kent has made a pitching change (#12).
5-1 after 1st inning.
In the adjoining field, it’s the Spotswood Trailblazers versus the Trojans of New Kent. New Kent playing both games at 10am will make it a challenge for their fans. But that’s a good problem to have !!
Trojans retired in order in the top of the second, still 5-1 [10:25]

Abingdon has added two more, thanks to a pair of misques by New Kent. Now 7-1 and with Chloe in the circle π΅, this one could end early.
End 2nd, 7-1.
The baseball βΎοΈ game is 1-1 and already in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Chloe adds two more K’s, now has 6 thru 2 and 1/2. Off to the bottom of the 3rd…
Lauren Baker plays center for Abingdon, and she just pieced together a high light reel in the top of the fourth inning !!!
I will need to circle back to describe all three plays but for now, know that she kept it at 7-1.
Baseball βΎοΈ has moved to the bottom of the 6th in less than an hour, still 1-1.
Kendyl Cole with a ground rule double and an RBI to push the lead out to 8-1.
End of 4th, Falcons 8, Trojans 1
Mid 5th, strikeout now at 7…Still 8-1.
Worth noting π that the drive π down for New Kent was five hours by car..
Both ballgames ended within a moment of each other at 11:16 (Baseball) and 11:17 (Softball ).
New Kent needed all seven innings to eliminate Spotswood 3-1.
Abingdon High closed out New Kent in Softball 11-1 after once again, five straight Falcons reached base in the bottom of the fifth. All five touched home plate, but only three went on the scoreboard.
Scout Summitt sent a rocket π to the gap in left center and sent the sizeable Falcons crowd home happy !

Back to the efforts of Miss Baker, pictured above.
With the game still in doubt, New Kent batted in the top of the fourth. Ava Brandon sent a shot to the deepest part of the park, and Baker tracked it down on the warning β οΈ track a few feet in front of me. Next up, Sierra Carter sent a drive to the gap in right center. Baker made a great stab at the ball but it bounced out of her glove for a double.
One batter later, with Carter standing on third base. a semi-deep fly ball made its way into her glove, and Baker fired a laser to catcher Capri Firtz for an inning ending double play !
Abingdon High is carrying our torch π¦ for Region C and they did us proud π.
