Today is a HUGE day for the Softball world, both here in The Commonwealth and 1,100 miles away in OKC ! World Series x 2

Back in the city of Champions for the final day of the D3 Softball College World Series. The gates will open here in a few minutes with an 11:00 am. first pitch set for game 2 between Redlands and Trine University.

Redlands captured the opening game 11-3 in six innings after spotting the Thunder three early runs. Trine will need to win game 2 to force a winner to take all showdown. The teams will play today in front of 300-400 fans, but it’s worth noting that what they lack in numbers doesn’t prevent them from creating an atmosphere.

Halfway across the country, there will be 13,000 fans in the house and millions watching πŸ‘€ on TV πŸ“Ί when the Red Raiders face the Longhorns in the opening game of the D1 series. It should be quite the Lone Star 🌟 shootout.

Softball has a wide range of fans that go from reluctant ( the only reason that I’m here is my daughter plays this stupid game) to those of us who will watch any two teams play the game.

2,369 miles is the distance from the University of Redlands and Salem, Virginia. The campus is 60 miles east of LAX, and their ✈️ home will be a fun one if they can take care of business against the defending Champs.

June 12 & 13 are the dates that Moyer will host VHSL games as we wind down the high school season.

Its that time of year !

Then there was one will be today’s theme in our Morning πŸŒ„ Brew…

Morning πŸŒ„ Brew

Brenden Fariss has something in common with comedian Tim Allen, as the Carroll County High School junior is the winner πŸ† of the 2025 – 2026 Last Man Standing πŸ§β€β™‚οΈaward.

It’s 5 am. on Wednesday morning, and in a few hours, the gates will open at the Moyer Sports Park in Salem for the final day of the D3 Softball College World Series, and later tonight, it will be Texas versus Texas Tech on the Big Stage out in Oklahoma City as the D1 version enters the final stages.

Meanwhile, on The Hill, we are entering the final hours of the ASPN coverage of Carroll County High School, and we have our High Jump specialist preparing for his second straight trip to Liberty University.

The Class 3 & 4 State Track and Field meet is held at Liberty University each year, and the two day event is a sight to see. On opening day,  Shawn Montgomery and Jon Delp will coach up Fariss for 30 minutes or so in his top event, the High Jump.

This will be year #4 of making the loop with our Track and Field coaches, but it will be the first time that just one Cavalier student athlete will be joining us.

The first time, it was Corrie Delp and Elijah Smith. Year two was Miss Delp and Brayden Smoot with the duo last year being Delp and Fariss. Delp finished up with a medal πŸ… in her efforts with the Long Jump.

This time around, it will just be Fariss and the coaches. The focus over the next 48 hours will be to try and create excitement ahead of the event and finish things up by attending the meet.

In action 🎬 at Christiansburg last week

Here in a few minutes, Brother Osborne will send in his Bible Verse of the Day, and it will be added below this picture πŸ“Έ of his family.

John 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

The next piece of the puzzle will fall into place when Girls πŸ‘§ Basketball Coach Howard Mayo checks βœ”οΈ in with his Motovational Nugget for the Day –

Blurry photo πŸ“Έ of the Day took place on the side of I – 81 last night when I turned over the finished book that I had been working on to Nancy Sorrels !

I’m very excited about getting that finished up ! Nancy is a neat lady who is a treat to work with. She was at the helm of the Carroll County Girls Basketball book βž•οΈ one other in the box πŸ“¦ set we have created.

Now you know what I know, and per the norm, I conclude with the Brew sign off of Have a Blessed Day πŸ™Œ !
