Vickey Ritchie, to use a sports analogy, leaves it all out on the floor every time she attempts to make everyone feel at home. This weekend, with the assistance from Ron Mack ( abbreviated last name), Coach went Swim, Hoops, and Swim 🏊♂️!
Saturday afternoon, the group gathered at the Carroll Wellness Center for a swim party.
Sunday afternoon, it was back over to Hillsville Elementary School 🏫 for the normal 2pm basketball 🏀 practice. The number of folks in uniform was north of twenty, but Coach was absolutely up to the task of staying on top of all the joy.
We were able to acknowledge Patrick Smith and his new role as an officer on the Galax Police force and celebrate multiple birthdays 🎂!
It was fitting that the game ended in a 26-26 👔 and as soon as the group closed out the practice with the ” One Team ” motto, most of the group packed up and headed back to the Wellness center for the bookend Swim 🏊♂️ party.
In just over 24 hours, three times were created and themed in which everyone felt that they were accepted by others ! After all of that effort, Coach still had the energy to sort through hundreds of pics and share them on social media. Still yet, Vickey then shared a few more with her neighborhood blogger !
Now, it’s 3am on Monday, and while most of the county is sleeping 😴💤, I’m sure in the back of Vickey’s mind, she is planning the next adventure !
