In the sports world, there is a term many folks like to use, and it’s ” Having It.” There is very little doubt that young Miss Greene is in possession of ” It ” and for the Lady Cavaliers Softball program to succeed next spring, it needs to on full display.
Normally, at this point, I would plug 🔌in a definition from the internet that further makes my point for me, but today, that doesn’t exist.
Two seasons ago, Carlie Beamer had the impossible task of creating senior leadership solely on her own. That is a tough task for anyone, but especially for someone who might be one of the kindest souls on earth.
Last season, there were six players trying hard to guide the way, and that is another form of a challenge. This year, there will be three as Greene will be joined by Natalie Burress and Laynie-Jo Leonard. You would be hard pressed to find a trio of ballplayers who want to succeed anymore than this group. But the key 🔑 is for Greene to lead by example in her actions on the Diamond 💎 and off.
Burress is as smart as you will find on a high school diamond, and her drive to succeed is beyond question. Leonard will now have her opportunity to flourish in her new role as a leader versus a follower.
Going back a few years to when Emma Leath was finishing up her stellar four year career, she had ” It ” by the truck 🚚 load and found a way to raise the level of play of the players. It doesn’t have to be Fire and Brimstone, but ” It ” is real, and Addie Greene has it.
The song 🎵 that either made you sing loudly or change the station was ” Who let the Dogs 🐕 out ? “
Degree #1 came at Virginia Tech University, where he played football. Fun note, VT narrowly edged out Duke University on signing day.
Degree #2 was the law degree from William and Mary, but it’s the depth and wisdom that set Jay apart from most. We will assume that has something to do with his upbringing !

A large number of people absolutely dread going to see 👀 their doctor. I am on the other end of that spectrum because of my time ⏲️ with Dr. Peele is something that I look forward to. The level of conversation we have is next level and expands to a number of topics.
The last time we ran everything, I was coming of the healthiest four months of my adult life, and there was hope of reducing the number of pills 💊 each day down from 30.
I knew going in that there would be a couple of numbers that would be out of wack and that I would have to explain to the Doc. I tried as hard as I could over the past two or three weeks to correct the issue, but it’s hard to undo the process that fast.
What happened was this : Marion Harris went to college and fell in love ❤️ with Shelia Bunn. For reasons that many in the Bunn family are still asking about, the two crazy kids got married and had a little girl 👧.
When you are trying to do what I do, you meet a fair amount of people, and no two are alike. The key 🔑 to trying to be helpful to others is trying to make sure that someone remains in their comfort zone. The last thing that you ever want to do is apply pressure to someone who is already in their comfort zone.
Kris Richardson, Greg Bolen, and Tiff Moore are three great examples of people that I can absolutely relate to. Casey Burcham is another, and the strongest case of someone who is DRIVEN is Miss Alyssa Ervin. The combination of talent and confidence allows for the telling of a great story that could lift up others.
Back to that, Harris fella… Adrienne Harris McGuire is the oldest of three pretty impressive young ladies. Not to diminish Jan and Half Pint because they are both on their own ways to becoming adults with a purpose, but Adrienne is haunted by who she wants to become and the lives she wants to touch along the way.
So, by now, the Doc is still awaiting the connection. Adrienne coaches our Girls Soccer ⚽️ program, and because her drive reminds me of my own oldest daughter, Sabrena, I want to do everything within my power to assist her in chasing her dream.
The past three years have been a great deal of laying groundwork, and the progress is undeniable. But the driven are not ever content, not when there is the next challenge to face.
This summer had way more to do about soccer ⚽️ than I would have ever envisioned. Was there anything more I could learn about the game that would help Adrienne achieve the next round of goals and dreams ?
Experiencing a World Cup match in person for the first time was just the tip of the iceberg. FIFA ⚽️ watch parties 🥳 in two different countries, professional women’s soccer in Nova Scotia – anything that could be picked up in hopes of raising the atmosphere at Tommy Thompson Field next spring.
Oh yeah, WAY, WAY, WAY too many trips to McDonald’s, chasing down sets of World 🌎 Cup Soccer cups.
Now, we are reaching the end of our time, so we have to summarize. Your numbers are not where we want them to be, and you want to throw Marion Harris under the bus ?????
Do the math backward Doc, if Marion doesn’t marry up or if he and Shelia just raised a middle of the road, Kiddo none of this would have happened.
But they did marry and, on their first try, raised someone who wants to make the world a better place. Thankfully, she has the teaching part down, so there is no need to kick rocks around on how to be a better or more caring teacher. But that would have been fun too now that I think about it…..
Whatever age you are, when you first realize that you are a little bit different than others, do yourself a favor by embracing it !
Full Circle 🔵, Doc Peele is wise beyond his years, and Adrienne Harris McGuire is on a mission. Don’t know where the Bunn family stands decades later, but there’s still hope for Marion on that front.
This particular story is designed for a handful of people, and I hope they enjoy it ! That is the reason our tagline is Encouraging the World, one person at a time.
