Little League Softball tournament is feeling the effects of Mother Nature today in Greenville, NC

Monday, August 3rd, is a Big Day for both the Harris family and ours and it’s part of the Morning 🌄 Brew !

Howard Mayo and his Motovational Nugget for the Day :

Two cars 🚗 are about to head out on meaningful journeys. Marion Harris is preparing to drive 51 miles over to Ferrum College, as for the third time, he will be dropping off a daughter for her first day of college. 4 years await out Callie ” Half Pint Harris.

I myself will be driving 120 miles southwest to the Charlotte Airport 🛫 to pick up my bride 👰‍♀ after a 4 month absence for medical reasons. Two different sets of emotions there.

Both Cindy Edwards and Shawn Montgomery are set to officially begin their tryouts in 🏐 and Cross Country

Here is to hoping that each and every student athlete involved has a positive experience !

With a BIG assist from Mr Ron M, Vickey Ritchie, and our Special Olympics Athletes, had quite the weekend on The Hill !

Vickey Ritchie, to use a sports analogy, leaves it all out on the floor every time she attempts to make everyone feel at home. This weekend, with the assistance from Ron Mack ( abbreviated last name), Coach went Swim, Hoops, and Swim 🏊‍♂️!

Saturday afternoon, the group gathered at the Carroll Wellness Center for a swim party.

Sunday afternoon, it was back over to Hillsville Elementary School 🏫 for the normal 2pm basketball 🏀 practice. The number of folks in uniform was north of twenty, but Coach was absolutely up to the task of staying on top of all the joy.

Scooby-Doo was the weekly theme, and one highlight was listening 🎶 to Coach singing the shows theme song 🎵.

We were able to acknowledge Patrick Smith and his new role as an officer on the Galax Police force and celebrate multiple birthdays 🎂!

It was fitting that the game ended in a 26-26 👔 and as soon as the group closed out the practice with the ” One Team ” motto, most of the group packed up and headed back to the Wellness center for the bookend Swim 🏊‍♂️ party.

In just over 24 hours, three times were created and themed in which everyone felt that they were accepted by others ! After all of that effort, Coach still had the energy to sort through hundreds of pics and share them on social media. Still yet, Vickey then shared a few more with her neighborhood blogger !
