Day: July 18, 2026
Mukilteo was home once way back when but today it’s going to be a kickoff point for a day of Island 🏝 hoping & Ferry ⛴️ Boat 🚢 riding !

Mukilteo to Clinton is Ferry #1 of 7 today, and we take off from a newly revamped terminal ! Huge improvement from the original one. 8:30 sailing over to Whidbey Island, the second longest island in the U.S . Only Long Island is longer….
This post 📫 will run throughout the day and will include some beautiful pictures 📸 of places we called home twice over the years.

48 miles up to Deception Pass – the cool bridge pictured above.
Oak Harbor is the principal city on the island 🏝 and is located on the top end. It is the home of the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station.

Oak Harbor is also home to a Planet Fitness facility.

You reach Whidbey Island 🏝 on the south end by the 3-mile Ferry ⛴️ ride from Mukilteo to Clinton. You leave from the North end by crossing a bridge with stunning views. Deception Pass is a must do if you are ever in the area and you can walk across it !

When you finish with your Bridge experience, you are now on Fidalgo Island 🏝. Fidalgo is home to Anacortes as well as the birthplace of our company, Crystal Clear Delivery!

Anacortes is hosting its Shipwreck Festival today, and the town is buzzing. A few miles past town, you will find the Anacortes Ferry Terminal. We barely made the Noon sail over to Friday Harbor due to the fact that it is summertime in the San Juan Islands.

I am now caught up, and we are approaching Friday Harbor. Friday Harbor is on San Juan Island and in the San Juans.

Friday Harbor is the opposite of Orcas Island in that 75% of what is happening on the Island is found inside of the first six blocks.
If you have time, the Trolley 🚎 tour is amazing ! 90 minutes of sites and sounds. Sadly today, we only have 70 minutes before we jump back on the next ferry..
Over the years out here, I would like to think that I have explored every inch of this grand place, but there is always another knuck or cranny.

Any list of places to fade to black would have to include Friday Harbor

2:20 pm – England 🏴🇬🇧 1, France 🇫🇷 0
Time for Ferry ⛴️ #3 – Friday Harbor to Lopez Island 🏝
England now 2-0….

England 🏴🇬🇧 4-0….

The little nicknames for the steps back then included :
Shaw Shuffle
Lopez Loop
Harbor Hopping
Orcas Island 🏝, 🏡🏠🏡🏠🏡

3:10 – Departure…. Ferry ⛴️ # 4

Ferry ⛴️ #5 will be the shortest one of the Day.
3:29 pm – England 🏴🇬🇧 4, France 🇫🇷 3, still 20+ left to play.

The Island Sounder Trifecta included being a writer, delivery person, and a feature story about my life !

Something that I did not know ! She was an impressive young woman !

Rebecca and Ronnie !!!!

#6 – Orcas to Shaw !
#7 – Shaw to Anacortes
Crossing the bridge by Swinomish takes one back to the mainland, and roughly 15 minutes later, we are in the Burlington / Mt Vernon area. 45 miles south of the Canadian border.
Such a fun day !!!
World 🌎 Cup Soccer consolation match today at 5pm / 2pm. Good thing or a money 💰 grab ?

France 🇫🇷 and England 🏴🇬🇧 on the Pitch would be considered can’t miss TV, but this one is different. Both clubs are coming off gut-wrenching setbacks against bitter rivals and a shot for a place in history.
Hopefully, it will be a great match down there in South Florida….
Welcome 🙏 to the beginning of Week 7 of 7 and it starts in Mukilteo and will end in Laurel Fork ! Morning 🌄 Brew

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Six people to meet up with while in the Pacific Northwest, and three of them gathered up in Mukilteo, Washington, late Friday night.
Pictured above is Skyler Pennington, Linda Carter, and Ben Pennington. Ben is wearing the hat from the night that we took in a Canadian Football League game up in Vancouver, British Columbia, a few years ago.

Don’t be fooled by how light it looked for a late dinner as it stayed bright until right around 10:00 pm.
December of 2024 was the last time we broke bread 🍞 with Ben, and it took place in the same exact spot. The folks working last time had to chase us out the door 🚪 that night as well.
The difference between last time and this one is that Skyler was able to join us. The last time we had hung out with Little Ben was at the BC Lions 🦁 game. Now, the young man is a junior to be out at Monroe High School. He has grown into quite a young man and plays in two separate bands !
We hit the ground running and swapped stories from start to finish, once again being chased out at closing time.

Here’s hoping that your Saturday is a Blessed Day 🙌😇🙏
