


Take I-15 North to I-11 / US-95 towards Reno. Once you have done that, drive out to Exit 96.
20 miles remain at this point, and there is a sign reminding you that there is no gas available for the final stretch, so check your Guage.





The elevation will gradually climb from just over 2,000 feet to 8,000 at the end of the road. You are still looking up another 3,000+ feet.
There are so many places to hike along the way and, of course, up top.

If you are headed further West to Death Valley National Park , make sure you have snacks and drinks and take advantage of the rest rooms in Pahrump because it’s about to become isolated from civilization.
If you are headed back to Las Vegas on Nevada – 160, you have a treat coming up.


At the bottom, you will junction with Nevada – 159. A left turn at the light takes you over to Red Rock Canyon. Going straight has you back at I-15 in 10 minutes.
Bonus stop βοΈ at the Junction of I-15 & Nevada 160. Inside the front lobby of the Silverton Casino is an Aquarium that is the size of a two bedroom apartment and has a live Mermaid π§ββοΈ inside !
