Still to come – Soccer β½οΈ from Thursday night π !

Here are the Photos π· of 10 of the potential members of our 17th group together. It’s been a treat to spend time around this group and on Saturday afternoon we will hold our ceremony for everyone that will be playing their final game in a Golden Bears π» uniform.
We take a great deal of pride in our send-off each season and this year will be no different. We head into the weekend series with Indiana University – Southeast still mathematically alive in our bid for the final spot in the River States Conference Tournament. We also have to navigate the Weather forecast as has been the case most of the season.
As of right now, we are slated to play one on Friday and two on Saturday but that is subject to change as its the end of the regular season and the three game set needs to be completed.
Stay tuned, in regards to the weather forecast and to the number of Seniors who we will be saying our Goodbyes to on Saturday.
Gray, Camp and Aspinwall have each submitted their answers as has J.W Taylor ( not pictured). This group helped the Golden Bears make it to Ohio last season for the tournament and won a game before being eliminated. They hope to do the same this weekend by taking care of business.
It’s time to script the lead in now, something that is a privilege to do !

The good news is that I safely π arrived in West Virginia head of our mid- week baseball game. The bad news is that we are in jeopardy of not getting the game played now.
During our 17 years together, Lawrence Nesselrodt and I have dealt with our fair share of postponed and canceled ball games but this season it has felt like every week.
This week is the final one of the regular season and we were set to host four games across three days. The cap to the week will be Senior Day on Saturday afternoon when IU – Southeast is in town.
We are still mathematically alive in regards to finishing in the Top Six which will earn us a trip up to Chilhowie, Ohio for the River States Conference Tournament on May 1-4.

We are 2 games behind both Midway and Brescia with three games remaining in league play. We need to catch one of the two Schools π« and they are set to square off over the final weekend.
WVU-T holds the tiebreaker with Brescia but not Midway so our best hope is for Midway to sweep them. We welcome #2 IU – Southeast to town and we need to win Friday night to remain alive heading into the Saturday twin bill.
Finishing 6th gets the Golden Bears π» invited to Ohio and then anything can happen.
In regards to getting a game in tomorrow, we would have to scare up an opponent who has an open date and would like to sneak in one more game.
There’s a long list of lost games from the season that would fill the bill, just not sure if there’s enough time to pull that off?

A fun count would be to see π how many times we were able to play on the day and in the park scheduled before the season started.
Either way, there is still something to play for on Friday afternoon and that’s what it is all about ! Ohio or Bust !

Macie Adkins is set to pitch Game 1 today and the Golden Bears have a must win versus Brescia University.
We will circle π΅ back to this post π« once the games have been completed.

How dominant is Louisburg College in Softball ?

2 for 5 on the day with a walk and one run scored against the best team on the schedule.
The two teams will return to the Diamond π Saturday to finish the four game set.

Thursdays doubleheader sweep allowed West Virginia Tech University to pull within one game of Brescia University in the River States Conference standings with four league games to play.
What’s at stake here is an invite to the RSC post season tournament on May 1st in Chilhowie, Ohio.

One game behind Brescia and just 1/2 game behind Midway with two of the three teams moving into the six team double elimination tournament.
WVU-T has a tough final weekend draw as we will be hosting IU- Southeast in our close-out weekend. Brescia and Midway finish up the season together. This makes the game today as close to an elimination game as it can get.
Rio Grande is still in the chase as well. The Golden Bears π» hold the tiebreaker over Rio and Brescia but not Midway.
The team is coming on strong and everyone is locked π in for the chase to Ohio !
