Coach Alan Knight didn’t accumulate 1,100 wins by being warm and fuzzy, making today a true test of endurance !

New Market – Don’t let the photo fool you, it is way darker than it looks….

Chris Carter played golf ⛳️ well enough in the practice round yesterday that Coach Knight excused him from today, which turned into a mental test for both Marion Harris and I. The golfing version of Boot Camp might be the best way to describe the day long process that is just now winding down.

After walking 18 holes at Sandy Bottom in Bridgewater, we were allowed a short hydration break where Alan brought in a golfing historian, Pappy Meade, in hopes of raising our appreciation for great game of golf .

Alan was underwhelmed by the effort he received from Marion and myself and showed it by destroying both of us in a competition. Knight was relentless in following up the first victory with a second one before the short break.

Coach was still not satisfied with us, so the next person he brought in was a motivational speaker, Bill Turner. Turner is somewhat of a local legend in regards to winning, and the visit was enjoyable.

Knight then sent us to the Shenvalee Golf ⛳️ Resort in New Market and told us to walk the course with just three clubs and remain out there until we made four consecutive pars or started bleeding from the callouses on our hands βœ‹οΈ.

Shortly after 9 p.m., we finally strung together our fourth straight par.

Now, he wants us to wake ⏰️ up at 6am and run a 5K to earn the right to eat a biscuit from Hardee’s at 7:30. The only reason Marion has not made a break for it is I’m his ride back to The Hill.

Right now, its time to find some pain medication πŸ’Š and set the alarm….

Chris Carter is one lucky golfer….

Travis Osborne and his Bible Verse of the Day :

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Mount Rushmore of Volleyball 🏐 coaches ? Rose, Alan Knight, Cindy Edwards, and Chris Carter ???

Our younger of two sons, Chris Carter, has accomplished something that I never have in that he is from somewhere. Luray, Virginia, is his 🏑🏠🏑 and has been for 20+ years now, and he has become quite popular as a youth coach for the Page County Parks and Recreation Department.

This year, Andrew Good , the gentleman who makes everything happen there, asked Chris if he would be willing to try another sport, and volleyball 🏐 became the latest challenge.

Tonight, he led his very first team to the tournament championship and the won πŸ†in straight sets. The team is pictured above with the second pic πŸ“Έ being of him and one of our nine grandchildren, Ana.

Tomorrow night πŸŒ™ Chris will look to double down as his other team will look to capture their age group tournament ! This time, I should be able to join in the fun at Luray Middle School 🏫 with the first serve set for 5:30.

Alan & Rose 🌹, on a night at Carroll County High School in support of Cindy and the Lady Cavaliers.
Speaking πŸ”Š of Cindy Edwards, it’s time for Lady Cavalier Volleyball 🏐
