Now we are down to the final 75 minutes of March, and wow, what a crazy 31 days !

The month started out in the Desert 🏜 of Southern Utah, and then we crissed crossed the country with stops βœ‹οΈin Ashville, North Carolina, to watch Alyssa Ervin and later in Sophia, North Carolina to support Dakota Walls.

Β  We teamed up to create a poster for the Track and Field teams and hosted a meet for the first time in a couple of years at Tommy Thompson Field !

I am currently in the middle of a stretch that will have me announcing something, somewhere for 12 straight days. Today, up in Beckley, I had to catch myself multiple times as it’s hard to remember where you are on a given day.

Don’t know if it is realistic to think that as much stuff that was stuffed into March could be duplicated in April.

Thanks to all of our regular readers and to the folks who check in from time to time. God bless the brave souls who are email πŸ“§ subscribers because of the shear volume of stories on certain days !

See πŸ‘€ you all next month !!!

The Best story that I have in my head but haven’t written is the one that Corey Williams is to Soccer in Carroll County what Joel Osteen is to the ministry.

Corey Williams is the key πŸ”‘ to Carroll County High School taking the next step up the ladder πŸͺœ in soccer ⚽️. It’s that simple – the gatekeeper to the sport is the best way to describe his role in the growth of our game.

In order to make the progress that all of us are chasing for Carroll County, it begins with Mr Williams. We all want to play at the level of Glenvar sooner or later, and having someone who can take a player from the beginning steps to controlling the game down the road is simply a MUST HAVE.

Williams is the man we all want in that role we need in that role. Sorry, a bit of Aaron Sorkin and a Few Good Men coming out there…

The picture above is a groundbreaking moment as Corey coached a historical match today. For the first time in school history, we had a middle school team consisting of just girls πŸ‘§. In the past, it’s been co-ed or just Boys.

Marion Harris shares the following :

Middle school girls had their first ever game in school history, and here is the team picture after it was over.Β  2-2 tie against Patrick Co.

Chad, Marion, Forrest, Adrienne, Brittany, Jeremy, and myself all want the same thing, and please know this, our best shot to get there begins and ends with Mr Corey Williams.

If a beginning player has a bad experience early one, you can easily lose him or her forever. Corey Williams is our MVP, and anything we can do to support his efforts should be done !!!

Thank you, Corey, for being our Gatekeeper of the World’s biggest sport !

13 hours, exactly 300 miles = worn out but proud of the results from the Day ! All that’s left is to see what all Marion Harris has for me and then say Good Night, Gracie !

I lost track of how many stories I πŸ–ŠπŸ–‹ today but know that each one came from the heart ❀️.

Β  Thank You to everyone who took the time to share the stories for me !

Maeli and Milli = Silly !

Sure, hope those two keep on smiling !

I know that Mr Harris has some cool stuff to I will get to it !

Thank you to Beth Bouldin for capturing the artwork on a very special night tomorrow on the Pitch on The Hill !

The connection between Forrest Johnson and the young men he coaches on the Pitch at Tommy Thompson Field runs deep. This is obvious anytime I speak to one of his former players, and tomorrow night, we honor the memory of former Cavalier Gustavo Munoz.

Munoz was an anchor on the very first team that Coach Johnson had, and sadly, we lost him was, way too soon.

In between the Junior Varsity and Varsity match tomorrow, we will seek to show his family members that gone is but never forgotten.

It will be an honor to hold the 🎀 during this tribute and I sincerely hope that the stadium is full of support for this moment.

Tomorrow night at Tommy Thompson Field.
