10 questions that we will ponder as Spring is in the Air on The Hill ! In no particular order…
#10 – How much easier will our Athletic Director Kevin DeHaven breath during his second time around in the Spring? The spring has 12 teams and at times it can feel a bit like the Wild, Wild West !
#9 – What can Casey Burcham and his dedicated posse do for an encore in season number 2 after checking so many boxes in their first trip around the Sun ?
In nearly five decades of being around High School and College Athletics, I cannot recall one person / one program move the needle in the manner that the Burcham Bunch did last year !
#8 – Can Rick Nester and his Senior Class bond together and return the Lady 👩 Cavaliers Softball team to its former glory ? Leadership by committee should be the theme for the group.
#7 – Can Corrie Delp complete the High School 🏫 version of the Grand Slam by returning to the State Meet for the fourth straight season ?
#6 – Is this the Spring that Shawn Montgomery and Jon Delp need a bigger vehicle for the drive to the State Track and Field meet ?
Each of the past 3 years its been Delp +1 but so many others have been right on the cusp. Elijah Smith, Brayden Smoot and last year it was a certain High Jumper that has new digs to practice on !
#5 – After playing QB for the football team and leading scorer for Anthony Barnes, what will Isaiah Easter do with his Spring ?
College choices might be the answer but so would 👀 seeing him swing a tennis 🎾 racket or kicking the Soccer ⚽️ Ball. Better yet, young Man 👨, you can always chill out with us at Cavalier Park!
#4 – Will the greatest Wing Man 👨 in all ‘da business be able to do his share this Spring at Cavalier Park ?
#3 – Will Sophomore Dakota Walls manage to capture a Checkered Flag 🏁 or two this Spring ?
Dakota has added a second car 🚗 to his garage and is kicking off his season down in North Carolina on Sunday , March 8th
#2 – Both Adrienne Harris McGuire and Forrest Johnson ( Jeremy Puckett and Brittany Kinney) ended last Spring with some home Pitch MOJO. Can this hard working 💪 foresome be able to build on it with a full season on the Tommy Thompson Field Soccer Pitch ?????
#1 – Drum Roll Please – How many times this Spring will someone approach either Mr Chuck Thompson or Mrs Tammy Quesenberry just to say, ” Thank You for what you do for our Community “?

What does the Spring hold for me ?
I have committed three things for the season. To help out Rick Nester at Cavalier Park and do anything possible to assist Shawn Montgomery & Jon Delp.
The third thing is not to bother the folks that don’t want any attention for their programs.

Today we keep our eyes 👀 on four Softball games in St George and Golden Bears 🐻 Baseball ⚾️ at Indiana University – Southeast !
First Pitch – 10:04 MT, Temperature 🌡60°
The annual trip to IU-SE is always special because it is the University that my oldest Brother (Wayne ) earned one of his two College degrees. They are rich in resources and dominant on the Baseball ⚾️ diamond 💎. But we will not duck the challenge !
Back on the campus of Utah Tech for Day 2 of the Beehive Classic and in game 1of 4 we have Utah State (Aggies) facing the Thunderbirds of Southern Utah University…
Should be a great day around the Diamond 💎

10:40 – we already have 4 innings in the books 📚, T-Birds 🐦 leading 1-0.
First Pitch of the bottom of the 5th was a laser shot that just cleared the fence in left center, tied 1-1.
10:50- Utah Valley University is in the house wearing their Green Tops and White Pants.
Utah State is wearing all black and the T-Birds, all gray.
Two out solo 💣 to right center in the bottom of the 6th gives the Aggies the 2-1 lead.
11:15 – Final Score : Aggies 2, Thunderbirds 1
12:30 Start for Game 5/13
Utah Valley University hits the ground running, putting up a 3spot in the bottom of the 1st
Utah State picked up a run in the top of the fourth but the Wolverines answer with a solo shot in the bottom of the inning. UVU leads 5-1 (1:29 MT.
The ” Bomb 💣 actually snuck over the fence but the scorebook doesn’t measure distance….
Bases loaded with no outs….Wolverines looking for the TKO punch 👊
Bases loaded walk 🚶♂️, 6-1
Utah Utes are in the 🏠, wearing Red & Red. Should note 📝 that UVU was wearing Green tops during warm-ups but are playing in white except their socks and jersey numbers.
Force out at home plate but throwing error leads to 7th run.
Sharp single to centerfield makes it 8-1
Sharp single to left, 9-1 and bases still loaded.
Fielders choice at 3rd, 10-1.
Utes have switched from all Red to All Black uniforms.
Final out recorded but not until 6 runs cross the dish. We head to the 5th and the Aggies have to score two if they want to extend the game.
1:56 – Wolverines win 10-1 in five. Next game is in 64 minutes.
Game # 5 of 13 figures to be one sided and the Utes have scored eight in their first two at bats. 8-0 over the Trailblazers as we head into the bottom of the second inning.
Over in New Albany
The Trailblazers baseball ⚾️ team has a 3pm first pitch taking place on the adjoining diamond 💎.
It’s gone final back in Indiana
Not getting any better for the Trailblazers as the Utes have pushed it to 13-0 in the top of the 3rd and they are still batting.
Bottom 5th, Trailblazers down 15 -0 and down to their last out at 5:18 MT.

They need time to flip the field after the third game so just by turning around I was able to catch some baseball ⚾️ action 🎬…
Game #7 of 13 will begin shortly and should be a good one !
5:56 – 75° but the Sun 🌞 is setting quickly
Utah Valley University launched a solo shot in the top of the first inning and lead 1-0.
Middle of the 3rd, Wolverines leading the Wildcats, 3-0 as the lights are now on

Wolverines added two in the top of the 6th inning, now 6-0…
Wildcats scratch out a run 🏃♂️ and now have baserunners on the corners.
That sound just made was a 3-run 💣💣💣 to dead centerfield to make it 6-4!!!!
We are headed to the bottom of the 7th for the first time in a while !!! Wolverines 6, Wildcats 4…
One out double brings the tying run 🏃♂️ to the plate……Exciting Stuff

Todany is Day 89 of 90 out here in the Desert 🏜 and it will include more of the 2026 Beehive Classic College Softball tournament! The first of four games gets underway at 10:00 am MT.
Very important note 📝 about the 12 Spring teams about to get started for Carroll County High School 🏫.
We will gather and share information about the teams that choose to participate with us. Nobody is under any obligation to interact with us and while what we offer is a safe space to promote their programs and Student Athletes, Nobody has to be a part of it.
We will be pulling for all 8 Varsity teams and 4 Junior Varsity teams from start to finish and let’s not forget that we have Middle School kiddos and coaches competing as well.
