First of Four – JV Girls 👧 Basketball gets a jump on Patrick County and sail ⛵ to a 44-22 victory over the Cougars.

Carroll County (3-2) jumped out to an early 15-0 lead in the first five minutes and never let the visitors get back in the game. Kayla Young scored nine of her game high 14 points in the opening run 🏃‍♂️.

The lead stood at 21-6 after the opening seven minutes and the Cavaliers did just enough over the second and third quarters to head into the final frame with a 31-17 lead.

Head Coach Kayla Nester received the same energy from her troops during the middle of the game but the shots simply weren’t falling for them.

The offense returned to hyper speed over the closing frame as the Cavaliers outscored PCHS 13-5 to close out the 22 point victory. Faith Clontz joined Young in double figures with 10 points on a night where all five starters netted at least five points. Raylee Goins added eight points, Kenzie McMillan finished with six points, Natalie Burress five points and Laynie-Jo Leonard tallied one as well….

The Lady 👩 Cavaliers are scheduled to return to the court Monday night 🌙 at 🏡 vs Honaker.

PCHS …. 6 6 5 5 – 22

CCHS …. 21 5 5 13 – 44

Marion has sent in info from the Christmas 🎄 Concert and Coach DeHaven has forwarded the swim 🏊‍♂️ results and Linda has the JV Boys 👦 information…..

My favorite Aaron Sorkin line of all time is “What kind of Day has it been?”

Finally back out amongst the Cows 🐄 we claim as our own here in Laurel Fork and here’s what we accomplished today. Three local charities have received right at $2,500.00 when you add in the new Basketball 🏀 uniforms for the Carroll County Special Olympics. We tried to provide coverage for 2 JV Basketball 🏀 teams, 1 Choir event and hopefully a Swim 🏊‍♂️ meet ( that will come later being they won’t return for a while).

Per the Norm, each one of those events will receive its own Post because we believe that they are all stand alone events.

People that we crossed paths with today brought a 😃 include Kevin Burress, Chris Leonard, Ron Cochran, Allen Worrell and the face 😳 of our operation – Local Celebrity Mr. Kris Richardson…

My favorite Moment of the Day was watching Mr. Bill getting Natalie “Just had my Wisdom teeth pulled ” Harris autograph his / our Basketball 🏀 Book 📖….It tugged at my Heart ❤ to see the Book being used for its intent.

Sad Note 📝 for the Day was Allen Worrell Big Footing me on the coverage for the Varsity Basketball 🏀 game tomorrow night 🌙😢. But such is life….

Not sure how many stories will appear tonight versus in the morning but they all will come !

It’s Time to head into the Big City on the Hill to Celebrate with Ron and give some money 💰 to some Local Causes

After we gifted the 50 copies of the Book 📖 to the players, coaches. Parents and contributors we purchased some more for the purpose of giving some Money away if someone could make a minimal donation of $20.00 to either Ron at Omega or Allen Worrell at the Carroll News. Because there are moving pieces to this story I will play Q & A with myself to explain…..A game of 10 questions if you will?????

  1. Why not just sell the Book at stores and on-line ? The Book was created as a Gift 🎁 to those involved in making Carroll County history. It was never intended to make a profit.
  2. Why Ron Cochran and Allen Worrell for Gate Keepers of the Book ? Both of these fine Men are True Friends of our efforts and have been for quite some time. It was an easy decision!
  3. What happens now that Ron has sold his 50 copies ? With everyone donating a minimum of $20, Ron has somewhere between $1,000.00 and $1,100.00 that will be divided up between 4 charities. I have to add that we are matching the $1,000.00 & ours went to Vickey at the Carroll County Special Olympics!
  4. Is Allen Worrell and his Plucky Sidekick David really as Cool as you try to make them to be ? Two really Awesome people who remind me of Kris Richardson and myself. Good Hearts that try to right by others.
  5. Now that Ron has sold his allotment will you take some of Allen’s and move them down Main Street to Omega? I want people to have a reason to stop by and visit Allen & David, maybe smile in their direction 😊
  6. What’s up with the constant wearing of the NHL jerseys ? The set of 32 were collected over the years at the home market of the team of the Day. Today is Calgary Flames day and wow is that a beautiful place. The goal of the jersey rotation is to be more accessible in public if someone wants to speak to me about something that they are proud of.
  7. What is the one thing about the making of the book 📖 that will last in your head ? If we had thinned out the number of photos 📷 in the Book we could have possibly kept the cost of production down but they were all so much a part of the story.
  8. Most humbling moment during the year long process ? When Nancy told Kris and I that Brandi was her favorite writer in the book 📖.
  9. Can you tell me what is was like to spend so much time with Mr. Kris Richardson ? I am in total awe, been wanting to ask him for his autograph but I’m trying to keep it professional.
  10. Last One – Do you have any regrets about the process ? The only thing we missed our mark on was the hope that going forward we could let groups use it for fundraising. The actual cost of producing the paperback is just this side of $20 and the Hard Back is just under $50. Hence the expression that we might have made it too nice. Total cost, not including time, fuel and tickets was just over $15,000.00. But the goal was to capture an event in a manner where it would stand the test of time.
