Page County Softball completes the week sweep by taking care of visiting Rappahannock County…

Page County won three of three softball games this week by three different means. The victories were over Strasburg 1-0 in a pitcher’s duel, 14 – 11 over East Rock πŸͺ¨ in a back and forth offensive explosion, and finally, one that landed somewhere in between.

After dropping two games against defending State Champs πŸ†, Broadway and one to neighboring East Rock, the team is now back at .500 with a 3-3 mark.

April 15th at Madison County is the next time the Lady Panthers will take to the Diamond πŸ’Ž.

Five Good Minutes with Alan Knight and his Lady Panthers Softball program, after a wild one versus East Rock πŸͺ¨ on Thursday afternoon

The first time around for Coach Knight and Company against neighboring East Rock created the question of how many times in 45 years has PCHS been on the wrong end of a run rule shortened game ?

East Rock πŸͺ¨ scored early and often on its way to a lopsided 17-2 victory at Alan Knight Field just a few weeks ago. Yesterday proved to be a different story as the Lady Panthers jumped out to a big lead and held on for a thrilling 14-11 road victory.

The home team trimmed the lead to 12-11 with a big rally in the bottom of the sixth before Page County answered with two insurance runs πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ in the seventh to secure its second victory of the week.

No rest, though, as Rappahannock High is the opponent today as Page County looks for a three game sweep of the week !

Earlier in the week, PCHS won a pitchers duel against Strasburg 1-0. The Lady Panthers only scratched out two hits against the Rams 🐏 but fortunately, one of them cleared the fence for the games only run !

The advantage always goes to the team not making the long Bus trip but once a team makes the Elite Eight of State there are no easy games.
