Happy 79th Anniversary to our friends and neighbors ❀ here in downtown Laurel Fork !

137Β  miles due East on US-58 is the little Gas β›½ Station and Grocery store that my GrandparentsΒ  ran, so I am overly appreciative of Nester’s Store here in Laurel Fork, Virginia.

Today they are celebrating  their 79th anniversary of being in business ! On days like today, when there’s no reason to leave Laurel Fork, I am grateful that out little Store is going strong πŸ’ͺ. As the celebratory sign says ( and beyond)!

There was one other significant thing about Saturday, September 13th as it capped the chase for parts of the story in Diamonds πŸ’Ž are a Girls Best Friend

The effort to gather up all the information available to me and start the transcribing has officially begun. The Alumni game event was the ideal cap for telling a story about how Cavalier Park came to be, from the beginning to the current day facility.

Β Β  There is still a bit of circling back to check with some folks about what they would like to submit and hopefully we will pick up a few more items here in the next few days.

The interactions with Eddie Vaughn, Brad Nester,  Darrin Mathews and Justin Quesenberry added layers to an already neat story. Cheyenne Strickland Marinus provided such a great look into the mindset of what it takes to be a Student Athlete at both the High School and Collegiate level.

Looking forward to seeing what the next few months hold in regards to the story !

The days of Trace Reavis and Camden DeHaven playing golf πŸŒοΈβ€β™€οΈ together for Carroll County High School are winding down but the pair is making the most of the few opportunities that remain on the schedule.

Reavis earned the Medalist honor πŸŽ– after carding a five over par 77. DeHaven captured second place in the field, finishing up with a 78.

Where it says Dennis, it should say Fisher McMillian.
