Β Β Β Today is one day closer to the High School π« games counting as the regular season is now right around the corner.
Later today we will have a Motovational message from Girls Basketball Coach, Howard Mayo and Marion Harris is putting the finishing touches on a local version of the Ryder Cup Golf β³ matches.
One of the photos π· from the Page County side of the Softball book π that we have entered the phase of describing the effect that the Late Roy Cardin had on a generation of Lady Panthers.
Β Thursday morning will be the time for getting to meet up with Mr Eddie Vaughn for our session about his role in the development of our Cavalier Park.
I was already looking forward to sitting down with Eddie because of the glowing report I received from the Man π¨ that replaced him, Mr Stephen Puckett.
Every now you can watch a Movie π₯ on the Big Screen and see an actor or actress in a cameo role and wonder why an A-Lister Star π would subject themselves to a small role. I chalk it up to the Star having done it as a favor to the Director or Executive Producer, maybe its repayment for an earlier break.
Β In my five years here, I have met hundreds, if not thousands of people and many have simply Blown me away. But everyone else falls in line behind Dr Oliver McBride.
In a few days I will get to spend quality time with a pair of Top-Shelf people, my level of excitement is borderline giddy!!
The first words out of Eddie’s mouth today was how much he enjoyed his time working with a man as classy as Dr Oliver McBride !! How many times does someone lead their life story with how much respect he or she has for their Boss?
So, it turns out that it is a friendly face that is behind the new Graphics !!
Β High School programs are very similar to families and the line about in it for a Penny comes into play here.
Cindy Edwards is our Head Coach and Kayla Nester is her lead Assistant. The duo have a roster full of young ladies eager to storm the court this season. But just like your Family πͺ doesn’t end with your Parents or Children, Volleyball doesn’t end with the Varsity matches, at least not in my mind.
Nikki Heflin and Sheila Harris are performing the same tasks on the Junior Varsity team. They also have a dedicated group of Student Athletes that are proud to wear the colors so they deserve the same equal opportunity.
Brittany Kinney, Queen πΈof the Graphics, is involved with the Middle School Volleyball π team and if that’s the case I have to figure Adrienne Harris is going to be in the picture somehow since Kinney is the JV Soccer β½οΈ Coach for her.
Yes, that means by the definition of Family πͺ, there’s room under the Umbrella π for her group as well.
We also include any former Lady Cavaliers that played for Edwards that are now playing in College.
Back to the financial end of the deal. $6.8 Million dollars π΅ for this season. Don’t worry though, Coach Edwards had that much in her money clip.
Now, $3.4 million of that goes directly to Kris Richardson for his agreement to be the Celebrity face of our efforts. $1.7 Million to Greg Bolen for Security purposes. Mr DeHaven gets 10% ($680,000) and the rest goes to the Government.
But we will have 9 Nine Home π‘ matches to have some fun with and it all gets started for keepsies on Thursday night up in Dublin !!!
Iβve been reading the blog posts as they come into my inbox, a lot of exciting things happening in Cavalierland!
CCMS Cavalier Football kicked off with a bang during summer conditioning and now the season has begun. The program is offering big opportunities for those whoβve shown the desire and put in the work. Says a lot when so many 12-14 years olds give up hours and days to their summer break to attend weightlifting. And for the village of parents, family, and friends that got them there, also the coaches and their staff that worked with the athletes, huge props to them as well.
Big thanks to the CCMS Athletic Director Kayla Nester for diving right in and getting our fall fundraiser going, βfill-the-calendar, pick your date to payβ. She didnβt waste any time getting the ball rolling for CCMS Athletics!
CCMS plays Thursday Aug 28 5:30pm at CCHS, followed by the CCHS JV football team. Concessions will be open, weβll have some new Cavalier apparel available for purchase as well.
