Saturday has the makings of a Fun Day as it involves Cross Country, Birthday πŸŽ‚ celebration, Duke hosting #11 Illinois, a boatload of Lady Cavalier Volleyball 🏐, two little old Ladies from Missouri and Marion’s Big Adventure !

Cross Country returns to action 🎬 today at Green Hill Park and we hope to have plenty of coverage from the meet as Shawn Montgomery leads his troops for the second time this season !

My Bride πŸ‘° of 40+ years celebrates her Birthday today and all she wanted was her favorite β˜• from Starbucks and great seats to a Duke University Football game !

Marion Harris is set for a busy weekend and it starts with providing coverage of the annual Bonding Day for Varsity Volleyball 🏐 as the team heads up and over to Patrick County High School in Glade Springs. Matches All-Day long with Carroll County taking the court the first time at 11:00 am.

After the four matches of Volleyball have been completed, Marion will be wisked off to the Tri-Cities Airport by his favorite College LaCrosse player for his next assignment !

#11 Illinois invades Wallace Wade Stadium 🏟 for a Noon Kickoff. It’s not very often that a Top 25 opponent from outside of the Atlantic Coast Conference makes it way to the Bull City but that will be the case today. I never thought that Duke University Football 🏈🏈🏈 would ever slip from the #1 spot on my list of All-Time favorite teams but Duke University Health has slid past them.

Have yourself a Blessed Day πŸ™Œ and we will do our best to provide coverage for both Volleyball and Cross Country !

Borrowing from the WNBA, let’s take a look see at the A-Listers spotted on the Volleyball 🏐 Red Carpet !

We had plenty of highly regarded people in very visible places last night πŸŒ™ in the Gym on The Hill.

Incredibly successful Carroll County High School Swim Coach Joi Ogle was in the house as was Girls Soccer ⚽️ Coach, Adrienne Harris McGuire. Hard working Athletic Director Kevin DeHaven and recently promoted to the Central Office, Jay Holderfield were spotted as was SRO  Chris Mabry.

Maleah Neely was sparkling in the first row, a few seats πŸ’Ί removed from Shelia Harris’s Father – In – Law. Junior Varsity Baseball Coach Adam Nester and Trainer Nathan Jones were also spotted in the crowd.

Donna Nester was glowing after her recent trip out West and Softball was represented by her Husband, Rick.

Varsity QuarterBack Isaiah Easter and Mom, who played Volleyball 🏐 back in the day were also in the crowd.

One very zealous fan took the time to answer the burning Red Carpet question – Sir, what are you wearing ?

” Clothes”

On a more serious note πŸ“, Mr Osborne had this to say..

” When the team is throwing out volleyballs to their parents and their parents couldn’t bethere, you know that you have been Blessed when they pick you out of the crowd to make the catch!❀️”.

Long time Volleyball 🏐 Coach Cindy Edwards was spotted as well but she looked way to busy to be bothered.

Thank You to everyone who joined us in the Gymnasium last night and we hope to see you again πŸ™ on Monday night !

Friday Morning Brew on The Hill !

Borrowing from The Rock

Howard Mayo checks βœ” in with his Friday Food for Thought, ahead of tonight’s Varsity Football game versus Grayson County.

Don’t forget about the Bleacher dedication in addition to Week 2 of the season.

Carroll County (1-0) after an impressive victory over Christiansburg while the Blue Devils dropped a 28-21 decision at Alleghany High in Sparta, North Carolina.

Don’t let the rain dampen your Day !

About Last Night πŸŒ™ : From Patti Goins by way of Travis Osborne, we have a JV baseline Photo!

Β  In sharing a recap at 530 am with Mrs. Tammy Quesenberry about last night in the Gym ( Tammy was celebrating her Husband’s Birthday πŸŽ‚), I described the evening as one full of positive energy.

Both teams were well represented and the action 🎬 on the floor was entertaining and there was pride in the program on display.

Β Β  The idea πŸ’‘ is to remember that we are all in this together and anytime that we can do something that reminds us of that, with little or no cost, in should be a No-brainer.

Β  The natural next step would be to invite the Father’s down to stand with their Daughters on Monday night. Assuming that they all make it through Saturday and the All-Day Volleyball Fest over in Glade Springs !

The Carroll County High School Volleyball 🏐 program is very much about Family πŸ‘ͺ and it felt that way last night !
