Saturday afternoon included a Home Run Derby ! Katie Belton led the way…. Now, we can say the Grand Finale THANK YOU to ALL who gave up part of their Saturday to create the Day !!!

Velvet Leonard Photo of Katie Belton after the Class of 2018 graduate πŸŽ“ won the competition !

The Alumni game concluded the festivities with the highlight being that we recorded 7 innings without any injuries ! Monday morning soreness might be an entirely different category.

Junior Varsity Softball Coach Terry Warf umpired the bases and Varsity Coach Rick Nester called the Balls and Strikes.

The Rosters

You will notice that 10 members of the current Lady Cavaliers were part of the game itself. I think that only Brooke Webb and Arizona Thompson were missing from the list of returning players.

Kudos to Katie Belton and Jordan Brown for logging the hours it takes to construct the rosters and create the teams !! Huge part of the process, for sure.

The pitching was covered by Belton, Emma Leath, Macie Adkins and Emma Harmon.

Thank You to everyone who participated as fans ! Thankful that God Blessed us with a picture perfect day for the event.

Thank You to Mr Allen Worrell πŸ™ for stopping by to capture some of the festivities. We appreciate his time as well.

While I have already mentioned Travis Leath, Velvet Leonard and Kevin Burress once before, this TRIO is what allowed me to try a dot every i and cross every T.

Those three and myself are just trying hard to create joy under the umbrella πŸŒ‚ that is Rick Nester and Cavalier Park!!!

Shelia Harris produced Patricia Lineberry.

Tammy Quesenberry secured Superintendent Huff.

Vickey Ritchie produced Sherrif Kemp

Coach Nester secured Tiffanie Moore

Dakota and Eddie Walls gave of their time and provided the Car.

Donna Nester took care of the Flowers πŸ’

Ron Cochran created both The Tops and the T-Shirts πŸ‘•

Russell Smoot, Greg Bolen ( + his Fanny Pack) and David Broyles combined to create a moment.

Mrs Huff joined her Husband for the experience and Alvin Davidson, well he is just silky smooth 😎. Principal Thompson and AD Kevin DeHaven also crossed the Boulevard to pitch in.

Travis took care of the Concession Stand with his group of dedicated players and Parents.

Mrs Michelle Nicholson created a CCHS post πŸ“« for us !

We had ourselves a Day and included as many people as wished to join us. I have done my very best to say Thank You to everyone through the past seven or eight Posts πŸ“«. I believe that folks want to help, when they can and when they do, we want to absolutely say Thank You Sir or Thank You Ma’am 😊

If anyone reading this knows of someone else who I omitted, Please let me know so I can correct the oversight.

Back to the Bag πŸŽ’ Boy πŸ‘¦that was assisting our Star 🌟 Photographer, we didn’t get confirmation of him having a bit of a crush on Mrs. Leonard……….

Welcome πŸ™ to Monday morning, September 15th! We have Volleyball 🏐 in the Star 🌟 City and JV Football 🏈 on The Hill

The Schedule πŸ“…

Travis Osborne with his Bible Verse of The Day

1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Howard Mayo with his Motovational Nugget of The Day will appear here shortly.

Have yourself a Blessed Day πŸ™Œ and Go Cavs!

The next to the last Thank You goes to the Lady πŸ‘© who makes me want to a better person and her dear friend, Sherrif Kemp !

Our Sherrif delivered a Breath taking rendition of God Bless America πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Β  For years now, I have happily called Vickey Ritchie an Angel πŸ˜‡ on Earth and any time I can be by her side in the Gymnasium with her Special Olympics Basketball πŸ€ group, I jump at the opportunity to do so.

It was Vickey Ritchie that contacted the Sherrif and invited Mr Kemp to join us. I was looking forward to hearing him sing again after he performed the National Anthem last year at one of the Special Olympics events.

His efforts helped set the tone for the day and for that I’m very grateful πŸ™. October 11th is set to be the day of the Annual Boo Ridge event that is the crown πŸ‘‘ Jewel of Vickey’s year.

. Still time to sign up to join us at Hillsville Elementary School 🏫.

Next on the Thank You πŸ™ List is Eddie & Dakota Walls for bringing the Race 🏁 Car to The Hill !

Velvet Leonard Photo πŸ“·β™₯

Β  Our on-going relationship with the Walls family πŸ‘ͺ has been a joy ! Dakota Walls is a Sophomore at Carroll County High School and the driver of the Car that you see in the Photo πŸ“·, above.

We appreciate πŸ™ the partnership with both Father & Son and are grateful for the opportunity to share the spotlight together !

Our Baseball ⚾️ Cavaliers had a tremendous amount of success over the weekend in South Boston ! The amount of commitment πŸ‘ on display from the folks that call Bill Worrell Field home is Marvelous !!

While the Softball Cavaliers were home having fun, our Baseball ⚾️ program was collecting hardware in South Boston at three different levels !

Junior Varsity Volleyball 🏐 played four matches over in Glade Springs and our JROTC hosted a large multi state event on The Hill.

Plenty of events taking place over the weekend as our Youth continues to wear our Colors in a Proud Fashion !
