Carroll County Middle School Boys 👦 got back on the winning track Thursday night 🌙 by rallying past Radford 27-25 on The Hill.
The Cavaliers, playing for the third consecutive night, trailed 15-12 at the break but flipped the script over the final 12 minutes to secure their seventh victory on the season.

” Another tough week playing 3 in a row. I’ve had a few guys battling being sick, injuries, etc but they keep showing up! We had a very physical game against Patrick to start the week. Took a loss but proud of how hard we played. Battled with Scott Memorial in a very close game and fell short at the end. I wish we could play them one more time at our place and I think we could get them.
Last night we played Radford and it came down the very end! It was another physical game that had two technical fouls called. My guys overcame that adversity and pulled out the win by 2. This puts us at 7-7 going in to next week where we will play Christiansburg and Rural Retreat before Thanksgiving break!”

The Hill – Carroll County Middle School Girls Basketball returned home fresh off a road victory on Wednesday and doubled down by defeating Radford Thursday night, 32-23.
” Looking more and more like the team I thought we were going to be this year,” said Head Coach Kris Richardson. “Confidence in each other and finally more confidence in themselves. We play Monday and Tuesday next week. Hopefully, we can continue on this high we are enjoying right now. “
Zari Cushman dropped 10 of her game high 21 points during the opening 6:00 and the team never looked back.
Briley McGhee scored seven of her eight points early on and Kierra Robinson added the final basket 🧺.
Next week will look like a quiet stretch for Carroll County as the team only has two games on the calendar 📅.

All of our girls played great. It gave us a good look to see our strengths and areas of growth to start doing work in. I’m so proud of the girls and the energy they brought to the court 👏

Back home in Hillsville for the last matchups of the week, the Cavaliers are hosting Radford tonight.
