The Basketball 🏀 chase across the United States 🇺🇸 concluded with a game on ” The Farm ” at Stanford University !!!

The Farm :

Marketing is the Love 💘 of my Life, especially in my later years and everything that Stanford University did today was designed to enhance the two hours spent inside their Maples 🍁 Pavillion. Wow, did it work !!

The Band was highly entertaining, very colorful and not a single ounce of negativity directed at the visiting fans or players !!!

One of the two giveaway items today was a Stanford University Cardinal rally towel.

The court itself will forever be named in the honor of Coach Tara Vandervere, number two on the All-Time Wins list in Men’s / Women’s College Basketball 🏀.

The crowd was both knowledgeable and loud which was impressive 10 fold when you factor in the San Francisco 49ers were beating the Philadelphia Eagles at the same time. The 49ers play their home games a stones throw from The Farm 🚜

They had a bonus offer from a local restaurant for a free Cheeseburger 🍔 if Duke missed consecutive free throws in the second half and thankfully the home fans went home hungry….

The Cal- 🚆train dropped us off two miles from the Gym which created a beautiful hike 🚶‍♂️ across the gorgeous Campus !

The day was highlighted by spending it with the Love 💘 of my Life and watching 👀 a well played D1 College Basketball game. The fact that it was Kira Lawson and her Lady Blue Devils just iced the cake 🎂

The next stop ✋ on the picture perfect day was a great dinner 🍽 at the Blue Line Pizza in Burlingame

Tomorrow morning 🌄 we will head back to St.George by way of Los Angeles and will turn our Basketball attention to the young Ladies who play for Howard Mayo as the Lady Cavaliers host Cave Spring High School 🏫 on The Hill…

The Hill, the Fort, the Farm, the Swamp, Death Valley and for the Smoot Family we will add the Horseshoe. Michigan has The Big House and Duke plays in the Bull City. See, Marketing is FUN!!!

Maybe Kira Lawson knew what she was doing with our November schedule after all ??? Lady 👩 Blue Devils win 💙 sixth straight after 3-6 start with the latest one coming against a Top 20 foe !

As soon as I saw the November schedule for Duke University Women’s Basketball 🏀 I immediately thought two things. First, I am so going to travel to the bizarre eight games and my second one was I hope we can go 4-4.

Paris, France 🇫🇷 was the starting point and from there it was The Greenbriar Resort (versus West Virginia ) ➕ at Liberty University and University of South Florida. The team did sneak in two home games before heading to Las Vegas, joining Texas, UCLA & South Carolina in a Thanksgiving doubleheader.

After the stretch (3-5) it was home to host LSU. That loss dropped the team to 3-6 on the season and I wondered if Lawson had possibly damaged the team psyche by throwing them into the deep end of the pool ?

Fast Forward to today and Duke sits at 9-6 and one of four undefeated teams in the ACC !

First five victories were non – descript but this one came against an always tough Notre Dame team that entered the day ranked #18.

Womens Basketball 🏀 is alive and well, especially in the Atlantic Coast Conference !!!

Game #3 of 3 takes us to Cedar City, Utah and the campus of Southern Utah University for a showdown between the Thunderbirds and the Mavericks of Texas – Arlington!

Western Athletic Conference opener for both teams and the visitors are slight favorites but the cool story here is the color commentator for the TV 📺 broadcast is clearly a fellow Seahawks fan and is watching the game while announcing this one! Classic stuff…

We are ready to start our Basketball 🏀 Triple Header as the Lady 👩 Trailblazers of Utah Tech host Chicago State here in St. George and back on The Hill we have Middle School 🏫 Hoops x 2 !!!
