Humongous facility, and it comes with a warning β οΈ – stay away from this guy !

We can start with the stadium π that no longer exists, right here in Fort Lauderdale.
Both the Yankees and the Orioles called the place home before relocating to the Gulf Coast. I actually attended a game way back when in the place, the only time that I saw a spring training game in person.
Both teams enjoy new homes now, and the NY place in Tampa is a chip off the old George Steinbrenner block. Last year, I was able to attend a Florida State League and left truly impressed by the feel of the facility.
The Tarpons made way for the Tampa Bay Ray’s during the 2025 season after the MLB club lost the roof at Tropicana Field during a hurricane.
Fort Lauderdale no longer hosts baseball games, but the location does now hold an MLS Soccer park.
Vero Beach β±οΈ is still the home of Dodger Town, but the Dodgers now play on the West Coast.

We ( West Virginia Tech University Baseball ) have played games in the historic park as the facility is still available for use. Just not the home of a team.

$7.00 to park, pricing ranges to fit the needs of most !

Daytona Beach β±οΈ is the only team in the Florida State League that doesn’t also have a team in the Grapefruit League

Today is game six of the six game set. The Flying Tigers π will head back over to Lakeland (1 hour, 40 minutes ) by way of Disney World.
Daytona is the northern point for the FSL and by a wide margin. If you count the Marlins and Ray’s parks(MLB), the total number is 16 Field of Dreams.

Love β€οΈ the IHOP promo !

In a few minutes, the umpire will holler out the two greatest words in All of Sports, Play Ball !
Just a long par 5 away is the Daytona Speedway, and the size of the property alone is mind-boggling. We took the tour a few years back and it was a great memory !

1:07 pm – 85, feels like 96Β°

1:20- one inning in the books π, 0-0.
The young lady working the crowd with the π€ππ€ is full of life !
I am dedicating this story to my new friend, who I met last night π over in Lakeland! There will be a truckload of stuff coming from that visit.
1:33 – Top of the 3rd, still 0-0.

1:51 – Top of the 4th. Still scoreless and Daytona leads in hits, 2-1.

Daytona has loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the fourth. But no luck…
2:21 – end 4th, 3-0 Lakeland

2:26 – Halftime score, 3-0 (1:19 to play 1st half).
2:37 – off to the 6th inning, 3-0.
B6 – 3-0
3:25 – Top 8th, still the only scoring was on the 3-run shot.
Breaking News : It’s HOT π₯
Final Score, 3-1

PSALMS 30:12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my GOD, I will give thanks unto you forever.
Yesterday didn’t end until 3:30 this morning, but it has provided enough stories about life to keep me busy for a month !
For the time being, I need to figure out how to get back to South Florida.
Have yourself a Blessed Day π!

Yes to Grapefruit, No to Florida State League…
