In a lifetime of bizarre weeks, the next 8 days and 7 nights promises to rank right up there !

The Hill, Bryce Mountain,  Page County, Church, Bryce, Roanoke, Duke Medical, Glenvar, Elkin, Roanoke, and finally back to Laurel Fork. Sadly, somewhere in the middle of that stretch, Lin has to fly back to Missouri for yet another round of medical appointments.

Little fella kept me company last night at the scorers table. Thank you, Vickey Ritchie!

The first list was the cities where life will lead us, and here is the list of people involved with the events.

Vickey Ritchie, Pappy Meade, Nancy Sorrells, Brian Hendrick, Alan Knight, Chris Carter, and his entire family. Plus, it is time for Dennis Zimmerman to slide into the pulpit on Sunday at two different churches, we will see 👀 both Chris Dodson and Mr & Mrs Chris Graham.

The staff at the Duke University Medical Center and, if all goes well, Cindy Edwards and Company Tuesday night at Glenvar. Add more Chris Carter and Alan Knight to a little bit of Marion Harris on Wednesday. Bill Gallimore will be in the thought process along the way.

  Here in a couple of hours, the most celebrated Uber Driver in all of the Land will pick me up outside and drive 🚗 me to The Hill (Kris Richardson is just that cool 😎) in order for me to assist Coach Vickey with her day long event, Little Feet.

  I have to laugh when I think back to the first time that I was blessed to be a part of this event. Charlotte McPherson was standing next to me when the light bulb 💡went off, and I believe that I actually startled her. Blind trust led me there that day because I have that with our Special Olympics group, but we were probably one hour into it before I caught on as to the goal / purpose of the event.

The first thing that I can tell you is that at the end of the day, if nothing else, you will have a greater appreciation for all kindergarten and elementary school teachers !!

Today will be uplifting, followed by a long drive up to exit 273 and west, but know that the festivities at Tommy Thompson Field will be running through my worn-out brain 🧠.

My commitment to Coach Edwards and her volleyball 🏐 program is one that I take pretty seriously, which led to the over stacking of this week. We play at Glenvar this Tuesday and off on Thursday, so there was room to chase down a few folks!

Kris will be by here in a bit, so I need to get ready but I will create our Morning 🌄 Brew here in a bit!

Carroll County Middle School battled start to finish, falling 25 – 19 & 25-22.

We served at Cups, had a 50 /50 in which the winner donated the prize back, wore Pink for Brest Awareness, sold Bake Goods all inside of 4 hours !

Here on The Hill, we are all in a Glenvar State of Mind, Thank you, Billy Joel

The volleyball portion of the Glenvar versus Carroll County High doesn’t take place until Tuesday night up in Salem, but there is business to take care of tonight versus Patrick County first.

Cindy Edwards made the turn at 5-1 in the District standings. The season is half over, and Tuesday night will be a showdown for a share of the regular season crown 👑. But, only if we take care of business tonight. Yes, we made quick work of the Cougars at their place last month, but that doesn’t mean we can look past them tonight. The idea 💡 of challenging Glenvar is a mute 🔇 point if you stub your toe tonight !

As impressive as 5-1 is, 5-0 has a ring to it. Seth Greer inherited a store that had nothing on the shelves and, in a few short years, with the help of an equally dedicated staff, has restocked the operation that calls Tommy Thompson Field home in a manner that it now resembles a Buc-ees.

  There is a scene in the movie Hoosiers where the team is looking for motivation, and they start talking about who they want to win this for.

While I don’t know the Glenvar football coaching staff, I do know the VB folks. They are great people who are good for the sport, so I can not go with they are Dr. Evil. But we need to have a common interest.

Coach Greer, win this one for all of us who have feared the Friday night in which we played the role of sacrificial lambs against the Highlanders. Help us forget the days when we secretly prayed that our boys would survive the game without injuries.

Win it for people like Forrest Johnson and Adrienne Harris McGuire. Two dedicated coaches that share your stadium 🏟 and both know they have to climb Mt Highlander for their programs to be taken seriously.

Win it for our old friend, Allen Worrell, who has suffered from Glenvar nightmares for decades now. This victory would allow him to sleep 😴 through the night ! Crystal would send you a Thank You card !

Win it for young Ryan McCafferty, a dedicated journalist trying hard to make a name for himself here on The Hill !

Win it for Principal Thompson, the administration, the staff, the village, people like Rossie Gravely and Samantha Reed. Win it for every parent of every player that has ever worn our jersey.

Give all of us HOPE, that we can all rise from the shadows of Glenvar.

The best part about this will be, assuming that our Kiddos take care of business tonight, Coach Edwards can refer back to the fact that Coach Greer just proved that Glenvar can be brought down, we can rise to the next level.

If anyone out there wants to practice their role as a crazed Cavalier fan ahead of Friday night 🌙, we have room for you to do just that, tonight at our volleyball match.

We are all just in a Glenvar State of Mind!
