Holding a certificate for two free rounds of golf ⛳️ at a place called The Legends in Myrtle Beach ⛱️, there was a tough decision to make this past Thursday morning.

The trip home was littered with scheduled stops ✋️across the three days, so the temptation to pass on the golf all together was very real . But you never know where you will find the next top shelf conversation or story, so it was off to the Pro Shop for check-in.

While I was turning in my certificate for the golf, the starter radioed in to see if I could play 30 minutes early because there was a group that was short one player. A quick trip back outside, and a few minutes later, the story begins.

The young man who would be my chauffeur for the round was two things, personable and a great striker of the golf ball. There was a slight backup at the first tee, and that allowed time for a round of introductions as it turned out that this was an extended family golfing outing with their being seven members in the group, all from Michigan.

It seemed odd to me that a well planned trip would only have seven members and not eight. The explanation of just how eight became seven was absolutely a testimony to God at work !

There were eight members in the group when they headed south, but the eighth golfer was back at the rental property recovering from a heart attack. The heart attack took place during the second round of the week…

  Taking a story about a golfer having a mid-round heart attack to a God moment might seem like a reach, but the Doctor who treated him made quick work of connecting the dots.

The number of stints needed and the amount of blockage in the heart was astonishing, making the heart attack inevitable. The patient lives alone back in Michigan, and if it had happened at home, he likely is found after the damage was done.

But it happened on a golf course that was located within minutes of a hospital, with loved ones within feet of him….

The patient was comfortably resting, and the seven other members were back on the golf course doing what they came to town for !

A few golf ⛳️  shots were hit, and the conversation was absolutely enlightening for the nine hole loop. The groups made the turn and continued their trek around the ever so challenging layout.

My hope was that I would stumble upon a good conversation, and I left there with proof !
