Thank you, Jordan !
While I never had the privilege of meeting your grandfather myself, I considered it an honor to tell just a small part of his legacy !

Door πͺ #1, Door πͺ #2, or Door πͺ #3 was the question of the day for Monty back in the day ????
In the Morning Brew, I made reference to the challenges that our Athletic Director, Kevin DeHaven, would face today as we had a full schedule, and Mother Nature was going to play havoc with it all day long.

Radford made the first decision by pushing back their Track and Field meet until later in the month. Easy decision to make because Track and Field has the most flexibility in their schedule. Less pieces on the scheduling chessboard if you will.
From there, every decision gets harder to make. As I await word on how my day plays out, I will focus on the three doors πͺas to how it plays out.
Head Softball Coach, Rick Nester, and our Lady Cavaliers are set to host Chilhowie in a Varsity only game beginning at 5pm. It’s Varsity only because our JV team is set to make that drive and start their game at 5 down there.

These games are non-district, so they don’t have to be played if rained out. We are now in the final two weeks of the regular season, so unlike Track, finding a new home for them would be a challenge.
Door πͺ #1 – arrive at Cavalier Park, host the softball game, and then hustle across the Boulevard to help Boys Soccer β½οΈ Coach Forrest Johnson in any manner possible.
Door πͺ #2 – The Softball game is washed out and then it’s get over to Tommy Thompson Field in time to assist Jeremy Puckett with his 5:30 start for our JV Boys soccer match and then stay for the Varsity game.
Door πͺ #3 – All three events get pushed, but know that the soccer matches are District games, so they really need to be played. I then spend the evening watching an old DVD π and writing βοΈ about the weather.
Please understand that I am not the only person who is effected by any of this. I am just the only one with an extra 15 minutes.
Girls π§ Soccer teams and parents are thinking about their trip tonight over to Floyd. Baseball βΎοΈ and Grayson, along with the JV Softball group and Chilhowie.
Nothing but love β€οΈ and respect for our hard-working AD. Know that Mr DeHaven doesn’t have a Hazzard pay clause in his contract, and he’s the right man for the job ! Pressure, he eats Pressure for breakfast !!

1 Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Have a Blessed Day π

The Golden Cavalier is quite possibly the most significant part of the school year, and everything about the event sparkles, from start to finish.

Β The idea π‘of taking a night to acknowledge the ten hardest working students and let them choose the instructor that they feel made the greatest impact on them is in a word, PRICELESS.
Thank you to Mrs. Webb for sharing this moment with our readers and thank you to all of the parents who raised these students. The final thank you goes to the teachers who have to be feeling rather proud at the end of the night.
Yes, three of the ten are far more familiar to me through our efforts as they are our starting goal keeper, first baseman, and left fielder. All three are very impressive young ladies, but I’m pretty sure that the same can be said all 10 !
