Day #2 of the Women’s Basketball πŸ€ Sweet 16 will get underway just past Noon, and there are ties πŸ‘” to each of the four games !

Louisville – two ties here. Member of the Atlantic Coast Conference and the school my oldest brother graduated πŸŽ“ from !

Kentucky is coached by Mr Kenny Brooks, former JMU and Virginia Tech University leader. Was able to watch Kenny first hand for years up in Harrisonburg and nothing but love and respect for his methods.

Dawn Staley is the All-Time Goat 🐐 of UVA women’s Basketball πŸ€ and has advanced our game by leaps and bounds over the past decade. Even hangs out with the Aflac Duck and Coach K. If there’s one more reason to pull for them it’s Travis Osborne being a fan.

In the nightcap, we have the Hoos of UVA. ACC, institute that our youngest graduated πŸŽ“ from ( as a teenager, way smart ). βž•οΈ I borrow from their graphics on a regular basis to promote Carroll County High School

Don’t know how many of today’s four will advance, but it’s cool 😎 to have a rooting interest x 4.

Let’s play ball !

Media TO – Cards pitching a shutout, 7-0

19 and 22 point margins of victory in the two games from Texas. On to Sacramento
Looks like we are well on our way to a third straight convincing win by the favorite.
19, 22, and 26 point victories thus far.
1,1,2,and 3 move on to the Elite Eight

Joining a 1,1,3,and 6 already there.

Wrap for the Day !

It’s a great day to be a Golden Bear 🐻 as WVU-T makes the trek up to Shawnee State for the first of a 3 game set. Two games are set for Sunday afternoon after the weather tweaked the schedule πŸ“….

Shawnee State is in the hunt for the top spot, while the Golden Bears 🐻 continue to chase an invite to the post-season tournament.

West Virginia Tech University will look to break a trend this weekend, and Portsmouth, Ohio, is as good of a place as any to build on the mid-week sweep of Davis and Elkins.

There is still plenty of time for WVU-T to climb up the ladder πŸͺœin the River States conference standings, but there is a sense of urgency to this weekend.

Four weekends remain in the regular season following this one, so it’s a great time to take care of business on the Diamond πŸ’Ž.

First Pitch is set for 3pm !

There are a handful of terms I have used to describe Kristy Jones this year, but now there’s another one to add to the list – Gracious!

Here is the verbiage used by Trenton Newman’s Mom in describing the second round match her son faced yesterday in Virginia Beach :

” In wrestling, you either win or you learn. Round 2, we learned that if your opponent uses an illegal move, you automatically earn a point! Trenton wrestled a senior from California, that body slammed Trenton illegally. While Trenton did earn a point, he also got the breath knocked out of him.

To quote another teams coach, “It sounded like a basketball being slammed down on concrete.” The ref paused the match for an injury time out & after he was able to breathe again, he got up & went back to wrestling. Im not sure he knows the word quit. Trenton ended up losing round 2 but will be back at it tomorrow in the consolation bracket.”

Kudos to Mom for finding a nice way to describe an unfortunate situation ! Here’s hoping that πŸ™ Trenton will have a bounce back today !

Soaking it all in on the way inside !

Saturday is set to host a number of Big Days for some very Special folks across the region, including three on college campuses !

Official School calendar
All three teams shown above will be in action 🎬 today !

Dakota Walls Racing will head back down to Sophia, North Carolina today to run at Caraway Speedway for the third time this season.

Varsity Boys and Girls Track and Field teams will compete on the campus of Emory and Henry in the Blue and Gold High School Invitational.

Middle School 🏫 Track will also compete down in North Carolina in the Mighty Viking Middle School Invitational.

Travis Osborne and his Bible Verse of the Day :

Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

Trenton Newman heads back to the
wrestling mat in Virginia Beach ⛱️

Tammy Tobler mentioned to me at the Softball game last night that Trenton was not the only Cavalier competing in Virginia Beach this weekend. I would welcome πŸ™ any information about the efforts of the other two Wrestlers that made the trip!

West Virginia Tech University Baseball ⚾️ is set to open its weather delayed weekend series up at Shawnee State ( Portsmouth, Ohio )

Vickey Ritchie and our Special Olympics Basketball πŸ€ program is set to make its second consecutive trip up to the historic campus of Virginia Military πŸͺ– Institute in Lexington !

Last year proved to be a fun experience for all involved, and there is no reason why it shouldn’t be the same in year two !

Lexington, Virginia Beach, Emory and Henry in the Commonwealth βž•οΈ Sophia and Danbury, North Carolina and Portsmouth, Ohio are the Pick Six…

On a personal note πŸ“, staying back to host Softball and the special evening for Hix Miller and his family, then later finishing up the Girls πŸ‘§ Soccer game meant passing on our tickets 🎟 to the game out in Sacramento.

The fact that the Ladies won at the buzzer means we now have tickets 🎟 to the game on Sunday afternoon at 3pm / Noon versus #1 UCLA !!

Flight ✈️ leaves Greensboro at 8:41 pm. with 5pm. for a βœ‚οΈoff to make the decision. Kira Lawson has the Blue Devils humming right now, but the once beaten Bruins already own a victory over Duke from back in November, and it was by 30 points. On the upside, that was a very talented LSU team that Duke faced last night.

Fun decision to make later today, but either way, there are plenty of people to follow today, even if they are scattered around the East Coast !

Have a Blessed Day πŸ™Œ !
