Welcome πŸ™ to the Christmas πŸŽ„ version of the Morning πŸŒ„ Brew ! We added a local Christmas πŸŽ„ Poem and some Thank You notes πŸ“

Before I share the messages from Travis Osborne and Howard Mayo, I want to personally Thank both of these gentlemen for their Daily show of support !!!Travis ( 7 days a week ) and Howard ( 5 Days) make what we do possible !

The amount of positive energy that it takes to wake up and choose to create content everyday that is designed to make people smile is harder than one might think. Waking up a finding a message from both of these folks truly fuels the tank !!

Howard Mayo with his Motovational Nugget for the Day is also a celebration of Christmas πŸŽ„
Thank You Sir !
Travis Osborne with his Bible Verse πŸ™ of the Day :

Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

While I want to wish EVERYONE a Merry Christmas, there are a handful of people I would like to say Thank You to at the same time.

Mr Chuck Thompson

Words cannot describe the amount of appreciation and respect that I have for our High School Principal πŸ’—.

See, I wake up each day and choose to try and show appreciation for all things taking place on The Hill. For our leader, its not a choice its pretty much a mandate. Here’s hoping πŸ™ that the Man who has a job that many won’t ever fully understand, myself included, is spending a Day with his lovely family ❀!

Who else fits under the same umbrella πŸŒ‚ of caring about ALL instead of some ?

Kevin DeHaven and Samantha Reed. Merry Christmas to our Athletic Director and leader of our Athletic Association. Both face a dual challenge in that they have dual challenges with both having a job with responsibilities and two Kiddos that fall under their jurisdiction. Our world 🌎 is a better place with these two people in it.

Next up for me is a pair of hard working Women that both contain a Heart ❀ of Gold. Vickey Ritchie and Velvet Creed Leonard give of themselves for the betterment of others in a manner that makes me proud to know them !

Our little Christmas πŸŽ„ Tree 🌳 and our invited guests.

Merry Christmas to some folks that influence our lives everyday. Donna Nester and her husband Rick, Marion Harris and his family πŸ‘ͺ of overachievers, Kevin Burress, Tammy Tobler and Macie Adkins down at Cavalier Park.

Dakota Walls Racing and our Softball Lady Cavaliers πŸ‘©

Merry Christmas to Greg Talley and his Sons, Kris Richardson and his Family as well. Let’s add Beth Bouldin and Kristy Jones to the list along with Shawn Montgomery, Shannon Dalton, Samantha Lark – Smith and Jon Delp…

You might have discovered a theme year and it goes right along with the reason for the season. We have so many reasons why we could be joyful… enough to create a Christmas Carol…

Feel free to sing and rhyme along as I attempt to pen πŸ–Š our Cavalier Christmas song…

We are joyful today here on The Hill

And it begins with Chuck Thompson and the way he leads.

Followed closely by our Ms Rose 🌹

The way she mixes magic into the food that she feeds.

We have a young man (Chops) that is attending Harvard University in search of knowledge.

Don’t forget our Soccer star / Valedictorian from two years ago about to finish college.

We have Seth Greer teaching our young children what it means to never yield.

We have Mr Casey Burcham bringing the magic back to Bill Worrell Field.

We have energetic teachers striving to reach everyone in their Class

And amazingly our Basketball star 🌟 is also capable of tossing a TD pass.

We have Cindy Edwards working so hard on Volleyball 🏐 that she needs a vacation

And we have Anthony Barnes sharing the news for the entire Cavalier Hoop Nation

We have the dedicated Patricia Lineberry and her relentless effort to teach people to sing.

We have Rossie Gravley instilling the thought that Pride in Cheer is still a thing.

We have Mrs Kayla Nester going 100 miles per hour

We have Trace Reavis swinging his driver with next level Power

We have Wyatt Ogle swimming like a fish and Corrie Delp flying through the Air,

We have so many College Cavaliers playing Hoops that its a challenge to share.

We have two Smoots, one Lam, one Cox and one Ervin representing us on the College court,

We have Forrest Johnson and Adrienne Harris McGuire working feverishly to make Soccer ⚽️ into The Sport.

When the joy of your morning πŸŒ„ starts to slow 🐌 down and you look out your window sill,

Sip your cup of coffee β˜• and smile about how much excitement is created daily on our Hill !

Am I running out of words, there’s simply so much more to say,

We will stop βœ‹ for now and wish all Cavaliers a wonderful Christmas Day !!!

Christmas πŸŽ„ Eve is here, making for a light version of the Morning πŸŒ„ Brew ! Maybe its Decaf ???

Carroll County High School 🏫 closes out our Christmas πŸŽ„ tournament with 66-44 setback versus Grayson County on Monday night.

The Hill – Head Coach Howard Mayo and his staff along with Athletic Director Kevin DeHaven βž• a host of Parents might be a little tired today after supporting 18 Basketball games from Friday afternoon until Monday night. Credit goes to EVERYONE who helped pull this event off !

The final piece of business was the contest between the Varsity Lady Cavaliers and the Blue Devils of Grayson County. The scoreboard will show that Grayson County defeated Carroll County 66-44  in a contest full of runs πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ by both teams.

Grayson County opened the game with a 7-0 spurt, a stretch that included many solid shots from CCHS but not any that would drop. Madison Coleman and CC Mitchell would eventually answer with 3 points each in the Cavaliers 6-2 response..

Run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ #2 for Grayson County was 11-1 and pushed the deficit to 20-7. Once again, the Lady Cavaliers answered back as Laynie-Jo Leonard scored an And One 3-point play, Mitchell added a steal and basket 🧺 ahead of Callie Harris drilling her initial 3-pointer in what would turn into a 13 – 5 run πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ that took the game to the half at 25 – 20 in favor of Grayson County.

The third run for the Blue Devils was overwhelming as it was quick as the visitors dropped 12 points in the first 2:00 minutes while Raylee Goins snuck in the lone points for Carroll County.

Trailing now 37 – 22 after facing a blitz to start a quarter, Carroll County showed a great deal of fight in their third answer. The team strung together a 9-3 answer to once again pull within six points at 40 – 34.

Grayson County controlled the final 8:00 minutes from start to finish (22-8) and it turned the contest into a lopsided victory that didn’t reflect the resilience that the Lady Cavaliers showed throughout the contest.

When Aaliyah Hampton scored the games final basket 🧺 from the post, it put six of the eight Lady Cavaliers in the scoring column for the contest.

Grayson County – 11.  14.  19   22 – 66

Carroll County  –   6.    14  16     8 – 44

Carroll County (44) – Harris 12, Coleman 9, Goins 8, Mitchell 8, Leonard 5, Hampton 2, Campbell, Young.

Major Props to everyone who helped Coach Mayo and Mr DeHaven make this event possible !!
