Trying everything possible to get a full and healthy 🙏 night 🌙 of sleep 💤 in hopes of slowing down the roller coaster 🎢 ride that is life, we faced a new challenge late Friday night / early Saturday morning.

  Fire 🔥 alarms that would wake the dead, or so it seems, starting going off an the Pineville, North Carolina Hotel 🏨 where we are staying.

The good news is that the Fireman could not find any flames so they eventually have to let us back inside to retrieve our belongings.

Saturday was already set to be a crazy kinda Day without the latest challenge. Here’s a number of things we will try to keep an eye on today.

Our Softball team is going to be heading up to Tazewell for the annual Jamboree for a day of Softball scrimmages.

At 1pm, Hopewell and Spotswood will meet to determine whether Carroll County was knocked out by the Class 3 State Champs 🏆or the Runner Ups. Should be an interesting Basketball game.

Up in Ohio, our Golden Bears 🐻 Baseball ⚾️ will look to build on momentum from winning a 12 inning affair yesterday afternoon and evening. Game two will be completed and then Game three will be played.

In Charlotte at 8:30 pm, the top two seeds will play for the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship as Duke will face Louisville for the crown 👑.

11am – Our Region neighbors, Lord Botetourt will try and keep the Class 3 Girls 👧 Basketball 🏀 title in the Family 👪.

We had an opportunity to visit  yesterday with the Man 👨 that will slide into the remaining slot vacated by the untimely passing of our Coach Jeff Tobler. Hopefully we can transcribe those notes 📝 as well.

All of this while trying to safely navigate our way down to Hilton Head Island 🗿🏝 for what was supposed to be a relaxing week before Oracle had other plans.

Life is chalk full of unforseen obstacles and all you can do is roll with the punch 👊es.

Not to often that one sees a St. Patrick Day Christmas 🎄 Tree but that is the welcoming item this morning at the Dentist office in Mount Airy.

We have another encouraging weather forecast so hopefully everyone can get out an enjoy the day!

It’s Semi-final Friday down in Charlotte and the folks running the event have their dream Final Four. Hopefully there will be a nice crowd at the Spectrum Center.

Marion Harris is having himself a Day, even if its a Hokie and not a Tar Heel kinda day.

Vickey Ritchie will have us covered in regards to the School 🏫 Board meeting and we have Chris & Velvet Leonard ➕ Donna Nester along with Coach Nester to keep us in the know about the Softball scrimmage while I monitor the Golden Bears 🐻 Baseball ⚾️ game up in Bluefield.

Meanwhile, here in Charlotte, Marion will be writing ✍ about the Hokies and the other Golden Bears of California. We are both keeping Mr Hokie, Allen Worrell in our Thoughts and Prayers all week 🙏.

It’s neat that Marion was able to chose a first time experience for his 1,000,000 credits earned !

So, quick recap, pull for some Golden Bears 🐻 but not others + for Brett to have a Kodak moment and for our Lady Cavaliers 👩 to have a safe and productive scrimmage !

Thankfully Mr Kevin DeHaven will correct me if anything changes in regards to today in regarding the four High School events.

Rick Nester, Martin McKenzie and both Coach Johnson and Coach Puckett will lead teams today as scrimmages are in full swing. We hope to be able to share some notes 📝 from any and / or all of them afterwards.

After two games earlier with Bluefield State, our Golden Bears 🐻 will face Bluefield University for the first time this season.

Down in the Queen 👸 City, six teams will try to extend their stay by at least one day as the opening tip is at 2pm. The UVA Cavaliers won the five team tiebreaker at 8-12, allowing the Hoos to sit out today’s session.

  The last thing taking place today is over at the monthly School Board meeting and while I won’t get into it ahead of time, I am excited about the recognition that will be taking place.

  A number of events will be taking place today and we will see 👀 how well we can do shining a light on them !
