Here is the Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament breakdown and know that we have our fingers crossed 🀞for Alyssa Ervin and Furman University to receive an Invite !

After the dust settles on the NCAA selection show and we find out the three teams that will be joining us in Durham next weekend, the focus will shift to the WNIT.

Furman University finished up at 18-13 after going 1-1 in the SoCon tournament down in Ashville. Head Coach Pierre Curtis and his team would love to be one of the 32 teams to receive the nod.

Getting to remain together as a team for another week or two is the selling point here. The opening round game would be played opposite the opening day of the Men’s March Madness but that’s okay because being in the spotlight isn’t the ultimate goal for Curtis and his team right now.

Year 3 was a success as the team finished in the upper half of the league and won a post season game. They played road games in three different SEC arenas and even hosted their neighbors from Clemson University.

The Lady Paladins have checked alot of boxes. Clare Coyle was named to the First Team and Alyssa was named to theΒ  Second Team for the regular season. But there is still one more on the wish list as making this field is a stamp of approval and will help in recruiting. It says that the program is in the Top 100 in the Country.

The announcement won’t set of fireworks tomorrow night because Millions of Hoops fans will be too busy filling out their brackets for the Big Dance. But Furman University Women want to join the Men’s Basketball team in the post season. It’s worth noting that the Mens team was in the building for their counterparts Semi-final game. Karma built that helped them cut down the nets later…..

Furman University Women’s Basketball wants to Dance πŸ’ƒ and they have earned the right to do so. We will wait to find out if that is the case shortly after we see if Duke is indeed a #2 and whether we open on Friday or Saturday ?

Our Kiddo wants to Dance πŸ’ƒ and I’m sure that she has Shoes πŸ‘ž

Cue KC and the Sunshine Band singing Boogie Shoes…..

Here is the Thing about the Spring : We have 15 teams that fall under the Umbrella πŸŒ‚so things can get pretty interesting at times !

12 High School teams in the Spring βž• my responsibilities with West Virginia Tech University Baseball ⚾️ βž• Dakota Walls Racing βž• Vickey Ritchie and our Special Olympics Basketball program.

That makes it 15 before you add on anything else from the Area, the Duke Women have a minimum of 1 and a maximum of six games remaining and we have tickets 🎟 for each one.

Β  Still hoping πŸ™ that Alyssa Ervin and Furman University will have one more opportunity to lace up the sneakers πŸ‘Ÿ this season but we won’t find out for another week yet.

Tonight wraps up the MACC competition and I’m looking forward to interacting with Kristy Jones one more time on that.

The three ways that I can make life better for someone is A. Using my space to help promote their efforts. B. Using my imagination to create a story for them C. Use my voice to announce an event.

I’ve come up short on the ultimate Goal of creating a safe space outside of Social Media where a person can click on and read only positive words about the subjects listed above. Didn’t get there but that doesn’t mean that you stop trying hard to support those who wish to be supported.

Tomorrow afternoon will be a great example for me to use as a fork in the road example – Coach Nester is hosting a scrimmage versus George Wythe at Cavalier Park. But its my understanding that you cannot announce during a scrimmage so does that mean going to Charleston, West Virginia Tomorrow for the Golden Bears double header make more sense ?

But its Charleston and not Beckley so its a 6 hour loop versus a four hour loop….

So just know that our goal remains to enjoy where we live, love thy neighbor and lend out the Skill set as often as possible.

If you like what you read here, tell a friend or two.. If not, then its easy enough to avoid.

Thanks for reading πŸ“š and Go Cavaliers, Go Golden Bears, Go Special Olympics Basketball πŸ€ and Go Kira Lawson & Duke !

Dakota Walls – Class of 2028

Duke – Louisville for the ACC πŸ‘‘πŸ‘Έ! Both are heading to the Dance πŸ’ƒ and hopefully both opening up at Home !!!

The ACC has been chalk city this week with two toss up games ( 8 vs 9) and (4 vs 5 ) being the only blips. The biggest surprise is that Notre Dame ran  away from the Wolfpack in that 4 – 5 match-up.

Should be a great one !

Louisville up after the 1st, 21 – 14 after a circus πŸŽͺ buzzer beater for Duke

Wow !What a Game !!!!
