Hey there on October 15th Tuesday- Our Middle School Volleyball will also be playing at CCHS as our possible final Home game . I just checked with Coach Edwards and she approved us having our 8th grade night that night before the JV game. It’s scheduled to start at 4:30pm. Would you be available to announce our Middle School girls before the game starts? It’s a very minimal celebration for those 8th graders and teammates but I wanted to do something special for them. They have never been announced before so I thought that would be a nice thing to do for the team and maybe have our 8th graders step out last and be honored separately.

Also, our Middle School team was met with another loss last night. They played explosively in the first set pulling ahead with 5 point lead but Christiansburg just kept pecking away until they came back and won 25-18. Second set spiraled even further behind with a loss of 25-5.

We took the opportunity to put in some other girls to give them some court time as well, but came out way behind. Both Sara and I know they have the skill set to win. The girls just have such a young understanding of the game and the chemistry just wasn’t there yesterday on the court. We decided to have practice today Friday in hopes to regroup for our upcoming game on Monday against Patrick away.

I had Dawn Osborne ask me to send you something. Both Sara Alderman and myself love this young team and their passion for the game. They are learning so many lessons on and off the court and even though we aren’t seeing the big W we are happy with their continued determination and love for this sport. The future is bright for each of them.

November 3, 2024 has been circled on the calendar 📅 for almost a full year now as the end date for our efforts here. Now that we are officially inside of 30 Days, I have to shift the focus on getting everything closed down in a proper manner.

As I type this out now I can visualize enough stories that there are to write ✍in the coming weeks that I’m not sure that I can get them all done in a manner that I would like. Holding that thought, I am going to pull back on looking for new things to write about so that I can focus on the ones that I am currently working on…

An experience that I will never forget!

First Stop ✋ was Cavalier Park where I was thinking that I could help Coach Nester clean up after last night. Early Bird 🐦 Rick had already been there and done that. We need to say Thank You 🙏 to one of the High School Building Trade classes for coming over and helping !!!

You will notice a pattern here as I try to find some MOJO, enough that will get me up to the Highlands. See, Cindy Edwards and I grew up and went to different Schools 🏫 together. We are the same age and were raised in a similar fashion to we are almost Kin to each other.

My Thursdays calendar 📅 said road Volleyball 🏐, it just didn’t say Alleghany next to it. Sadly, from my part of Laurel Fork its 2:30 each way.

Everyone that has a Child that is or has played Sports for Carroll County is very familiar with what I like to call “Our Favorite Road Trip”

Let’s get back to the Volleyball 🏐 match for tonight. Carroll County is starting the back half of its Three Rivers District slate and tripped up the Cougars when they visited The Hill the first time the two teams met.

Alleghany is indeed 14-3 and just Glass (twice) and Carroll County (once) have defeated them. CCHS is actually 7-6 as Max Preps still doesn’t list our victory up at Glenvar yet.

Cavaliers started the game with possession, pushed hard but no score. Pulaski Cougars take over and with 314 left in the 1st quarter, score and get the 2 pt conversion to make it 8-0, Cougars.

Cavs go to work!

Cougars slide right in on the first down for a TD, 2 point attempt no good! score now 14-0. Let’s get some momentum Cavs, stay strong! 💙🤍🩶

1st quarter ends with the Cavaliers on 3rd and 25, facing a disciplined defense in Pulaski. Early in the game, let’s make something happen!

2nd quarter begins with the Cavaliers giving the ball to the Cougars after not making any progress on that 3rd down. Cougars send the ball in the end zone again and complete their 2 point attempt. Score 22-0 with 6:59 to go in the 2nd quarter.

JV Volleyball 🏐 👔 at 5, now 10-5 Cougars (TO)

Cavaliers keep pounding to a 4th and 1, an offsides penalty against the Cougars gives the Cavs the first down.

After a tense few minutes, Cavaliers punt and bring out their defense to recover the Cougar fumble on first down, #40 Bryson. Let’s go boys!

Head Coach Cindy Edwards will make the same trek and will play Varsity Volleyball 🏐 after the JV.

Six Athletic events being played today with the hope we can share something about all six later tonight!

It’s 4:53 pm on Wednesday afternoon and its finally quitting time for the architects to back up and head back out to Laurel Fork ! Their portion of the work here at Cavalier Park has been completed 👏 and both Coach Nester & I feel blessed to have people like Paul Nester and Donald Dalton on our team.

I pledged to stay here until they drove out of the parking lot and we are getting close !!

Going to sneak in an Out of Town Scoreboard moment here as KK Newman and Bluefield are hosting Kentucky Christian up at East River Soccer ⚽️ Complex…
