Social Studies Teacher

Carroll County High School

Notes 📝 from Coach –

Good day overall. Runners improved from Tuesday’s race. Tough competition with over 3000 total runners.

Side Note 📝 – it was by design to leave the Social Studies Teacher in place. Don’t want to forget that Coach is an educator first !

Just wanting to watch some Cavalier Football 🏈🏈🏈…Cavaliers win 22-18!!!!

We are not off to a good start…..

Was hoping to do a running 🏃‍♂️ Blog on the evening over in Independence but for the second straight week…..

Hoping for a better result this week as it never happened in the victory over Grundy. Fingers crossed 🤞

Go Cavaliers…..

Cavaliers leading 15-12 after Smoot TD & 2 point conversion !

Halftime – Thanks to Delilah Brady

Pics from Mama Smoot !

Update on The Network – they have changed their message over to Sorry, not happening tonight.

Delilah Brady for the Win

Busy, Busy Day as we try to keep an eye 👁 on Roanoke, Richmond, Independence and The Windy City…

Miss Bunn and Ferrum Volleyball 🏐 are playing twice today at Roanoke College today (Noon & 4 pm).

Appalachian State University Field Hockey 🏑 takes to the road today for the first time, heading up to Richmond to tangle with the Spiders 🕷. Zero responsibility when they’re on the road, just get to be a Fan !

Carroll County High School Football takes the scenic drive 🚗 across US-58 to tangle with the Blue Devils on the gridiron 🏈 at 7pm. The Cavaliers are 1-0 and looking forward to getting back on to the field.

The fourth contest is a tough one because it involves Duke University playing football in Chicago against Northwestern. It’s a long time since I wasn’t in the stands when Duke played Football and that streak might end tonight.

See, its not everyday that ones wife turns 60. Today is her day but there’s a Non-Stop flight ✈️ from Greensboro to O’Hare at 6pm that lands in plenty of time for the kickoff.

If you have a 🙏🙏🙏 list going today, Please add the Smoot family 👪 to it.

Happy Birthday 🎂 to my neighbors and friends, Kris Richardson and Paul Nester as well! Two pretty cool 😎 people to have in our World 🌎❤.

To recap, Go Ferrum, Go App State, Go one set of Blue Devils but not the others. Have yourself a Cavalier kinda Day !

Anyone out there wanting to help cover anything, Please reach out.

Ben Tickle and I share a common denominator with Union University Lady Bulldog Soccer ⚽️

Coach Ben Tickle was at the helm for her Senior season at Carroll County High School 🏫 while it was my job to draw attention to Miss Ashlyn Newman.

Union opened their season today over in Arkansas at Harding and our adopted team quickly fell behind 1-0 but rallied back for the 3-1 victory !

My guess is that Mom, Dad and Big Sis had some interest in the game too. Not everything is about just the two older fans of this very impressive young Lady 👏…

We will do our best to keep eyes 👀 on the Lady 👩 Bulldogs all season!
