The Hill – Carroll County JV Baseball ⚾️ is 6-0 and set to host the Glenvar Highlanders at Bill Worrell Baseball Field and this will be Ground Zero for the efforts to gather all eight scores from tonight’s action 🎬.

Adam Nester has hit the ground running πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ after taking over as Head Coach after Steve Combs moved up to become the Assistant Coach of the Varsity program. Six games = six victories, five by shutout and they won by the slimmest of margins & the widest along the way.

The tempature reads 46° but the wind tells a different story. But baseball ⚾️ is baseball. so they show will go on.

Junior Varsity Baseball started out with 18 players but is now at 16. Blake Reed has joined the Varsity team and Dane Leonard is in a walking πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ boot πŸ‘’.

It’s 4pm now and this Post πŸ“« will run through the end of the night πŸŒ™ so check back early and often as its a BUSY night for the Cavaliers !

What would today’s Cavalier calendar πŸ“… look like with graphics ? South Alabama lends one example as Carroll County versus Glenvar kicks into full gear βš™

This week on The Hill ??

Tennis 🎾 x 2 get added to the list, bringing the total to seven today versus the Highlanders and one with Fort Chiswell. Glenvar took a 1-0 lead last night πŸŒ™ as their Girls πŸ‘§ Soccer team defeated the Lady Cavaliers.

App State style…

Please note πŸ“ that the JV Softball game is at Fort Chiswell, not Glenvar.

Carroll County High Girls Soccer ⚽️ falls short at Glenvar Monday night πŸŒ™ as the two time State defending Champs get off to a red hot start.

Carroll County opened the season with four consecutive shutout victories in the debut season for Head Coach Adrienne Harris but Monday night πŸŒ™ they fell short against a Highlanders squad that is searching for a 3-peat in both the Three Rivers District and Class 2.

The hope of slowing down Glenvar at the start of the game didn’t work out the way Carroll County had hoped as the home team scored two quick goals in the opening minutes. The score at the half was 5-0 and the final 8-0.

CCHS had an opportunity to trim the lead to 2-1 as Callie Harris worked herself free midway through the opening half but was turned away. Glenvar responded with its third goal shortly after and then continued to pull away.

Due to upgrades taking place at Tommy Thompson Field this spring, the team has yet to play a home game thus far. Sitting at 4-1 without playing in front of home fans is an encouraging start to the season and the next match will be a great opportunity for a bounce back tilt.

The Lady πŸ‘© Cavaliers will return to the Pitch Friday night in Buchanan when they take on James River High School 🏫.
