Sunday morning 🌄 Basketball 🏀 breakdown as we are now just 48 hours away from the Head Coaching debut of Kris Richardson !
Is it possible to be equally excited about covering a College Basketball 🏀 game in Paris, France 🇫🇷 and a Middle School 🏫 Basketball game ?
The answer is YES, because its Kris Richardson coaching his initial game for the Carroll County Middle School Girls Basketball team.
Tuesday evening at 5pm is the start time for the season opener against Scott Memorial Middle School 🏫. While I’m pretty sure that Coach Lawson has plenty of tape on the Baylor University Bears 🐻 but I don’t know if Coach Richardson has the same level of data on SMMS.

It would be wrong to not mention that the season opener for the Lady Cavaliers brings the loss of beloved Coach Jeff Tobler full circle. While it has been almost a full calendar year since we said our way too soon goodbyes to Coach Tobes, his passing came as the Basketball season was wrapping up last year.
Yes, truly excited about heading to Paris for the season opener next Monday night 🌙 but just as excited about heading to The Hill for the season opener against Scott Memorial Middle School 🏫.!!!

Marion Harris and Corey Williams are the veteran leaders of the ongoing team effort to bring Carroll County High School and Youth Soccer to the next level.
It’s common knowledge that Carroll County has been behind the curve in regards to Soccer but the gap is getting smaller by the day. Forrest Johnson and Adrienne Harris McGuire are driving 🚗 the Soccer Bus 🚌 from their positions as Head Coachespecially but both will tell you that there are plenty of empty seats on the Cavalier Soccer Express.
Corey and Marion crossed paths today at the youth Soccer clinic that McGuire was hosting on the South side of the Boulevard.
Above is the older group and below is the younger players.
Marion estimates that Corey and him have teamed up on fifty some camps like the one today. That’s a whole lot of planting seeds in the ground over the years.
Soccer had a good day today and it came on the heels of one of its stars 🌟 celebrating her Senior Day up at Bluefield University. But Soccer has a greater Hill to climb in regards to becoming a mainstream sport at the local level. Congratulations 👏👏👏 to Miss Ashlyn Newman.
