Clarification on My Pep Talk to myself ! Thanks for those who were concerned about my limited Mental Health…

Lin and I are trying hard to check ✔ a bunch of Medical 🚑 boxes as we prepare to leave town, first to Paris, France 🇫🇷 and a few days later back out to Utah.

  Trying hard to make sure that some things happen that are really important to some folks that are really important to me and we are trying to line everything up correctly.

Shawn Montgomery and his Cross Country runners 🏃‍♂️ will be splish splashing away over in Axton, now on Thursday afternoon after it was moved from Wednesday. It is only three runners competing but its our three runners and once you have met their Mothers 👩, it magnifies the situation.

  Volleyball 🏐 at Abingdon is not until Monday at 6pm, which means Midnight in Paris. The match-up with the Falcons is not a kind one for Cindy Edwards and her Lady Cavaliers but one cannot skip that. I feel that I will be the only person watching the match from Europe 🇪🇺.

Not even sure what Vickey Ritchie has in store tonight but I can’t wait to stand by her side and find out !

Kris Richardson is ready to coach his first game with his latest group of Girls and his zest for what he does is contagious, to me anyway…

Trying hard to see 👀 if there’s a window of opportunity to catch Bryce and Brayden Smoot over at Southwest Virginia Community College……

It would be sooo easy to say “it’s just” in any of these situations but not when your entire platform is based on caring for others…

We had a great staff meeting and Yes, my group rolled their eyes 👀 at me but that happens when you’re hanging with creatures. Yes, the one on the top is Little Kevin Burress!!

The definition of my efforts ❤ summed up in just one screen shot !

Equality is the Goal, get up everyday and do your absolute best to try and treat everyone as equals.

The Bible says so many different things to so many different people. My takeaway is that God created us as equals and treat others as you wish to be treated.

I’m committed to chasing this thought process for however long I am fortunate enough to be here on Earth 🌎!

I will do my best to not bother people with by delusional ( you have to know that I struggled to spell the word) thought process.

Two words that can really hurt ?

It’s Just……. Don’t put those words in front of something that isn’t yours because what you are describing could be the most important thing in someone’s life.

Power Up Oct

  Kris Richardson is ready for his season opener here in right at 12 hours now and we are excited for our Friend and Neighbor ! It seems like it was only yesterday when Anthony Barnes and Richardson were hosting their annual Boys 👦 Basketball banquet following their trip to the State Tournament.

Richardson  made the transition from the Co-Pilot seat 💺 on the Varsity Boys ✈️ over to the third tier of the program led by legendary Howard Mayo. Mayo is set to begin year two of round two as Head Basketball coach for the Lady Cavaliers.

Immediately after the conclusion of the Girls Basketball game it will be time to head over for the next adventure in the World 🌎 of Vickey Ritchie and her Special Olympics Basketball team. Power Up Oct in Galax will be the destination for the gathering tonight and I’m sure that Coach Vickey will have a great time planned for her team.

*** The double up is the reason why we won’t be staying for the Boys opening game.

Tonight will be the final time that our paths cross before Lin and I head out on November 11th and we treasure 💖 anytime that we can spend with Coach Vickey !

Mother Nature extends the Cross Country season by one day… Our Cavalier teams will head over to Axton on Thursday afternoon now, instead of Wednesday.

Head Coach Shawn Montgomery has informed us that the Regional Cross Country meet has been pushed back 24 hours due to the amount of rain 🌧 in the forecast.

Trenton Newman, Amelia Forsyth and Will Dalton will have another 24 hours to prepare for their Biggest challenge of their season.

Cedar Bluff, Virginia – Carroll County High School graduate 🎓 and All-Time Boys scoring leader, Bryce Smoot knew he was going to play College Basketball next week. The freshman guard learned this week that his twin brother, Brayden was going to be joining him on the active roster.

Brayden Smoot joined Bryce in heading to Southwest Virginia Community College but was listed as a red-shirt for the season. By comparison to College Football, where a player can be listed as a preferred walk-on, Brayden Smoot continued to practice in the only manner he knows how – warp speed.

Earlier this week, Head Coach Thad Lambert  called his team over after practice as he had some news to share.

Thatcher informed Brayden Smoot that he was no longer a red-shirt but a member of the team.

” After there practice today the coach called them all in a huddle! First game is next week! He huddled the team up and said he had something to tell them,” said Russell Smoot. “He went on to talk about how hard Brayden has worked from day one and how talented he is! He said that he is pulling his redshirt! He is no longer redshirted!! Officially on the team? The team went crazy for him!Whoppin and hollering. Cannot tell you the emotions! Brayden has always had to work so hard for everything! His brother becomes All Time, you can see it! This was all about him(finally) Just him! All the work he has put in! Nothing ever givin-all earned! We are so happy for him! He had absolutely no idea the coach was even considering this! There coach will never really know what he has done for Brayden! 12 years of always scrapping to be seen by someone! Not Bryce brother anymore! This was all him!!”

  Russell and Mama Smoot have always been proud of both their boys. The proud parents knew that Brayden would get there eventually but now they have two reasons to look forward to the teams season opener next week. But like all things Smoot, Bryce was just as excited about it as Brayden.

” Bryce is just as overwhelmed as Brayden (believe me), ” added Russell Smoot. ” It all starts next week.”
