Three Rivers District VB standings could have a Ladder in place at the halfway point.

Tonight Radford and James River will get together to close out the first half of District play. If Radford holds serve it will create what I like to call the Ladder.

Glenvar 5-0

CCHS 4-1

Radford 2-2, would become 3-2

Floyd County 2-3

James River 1-3, would drop to 1-4

Alleghany 0-5

It’s only every so often that the entire league holds serve for an entire rotation through the League contests.

Glenvar bested everyone, CCHS turned away everyone except Glenvar and Radford would have accomplished the same thing over the lower half of the standings. The bottom three teams would follow the same format.

Tonight’s Radford vs James River match will be joined by the opening match of the second half as Carroll County travels up I-81 to face Glenvar.

If the Cavilers were to best the Highlanders it will create quite the race for the top spot for the remainder of the regular season. But if Glenvar prevails they would have a two game lead and the tie breaker over the Cavilers.

Carroll County Lady Cavilers Volleyball 🏐 team can best be described as Likeable

When it comes down to it in the World of Sports at any level you want your team to be the Good Guys on the field, on the diamond or on the court.

The 2022 Carroll County High School Volleyball program is simply incredibly likeable and easy to cheer for.

They have an animated Junior Varsity Coach and a Legendary Varsity Coach plus two rosters full of student athletes who are willing to listen.

The team also has a group of dedicated Parents / Fans that logged close to 500 miles this week as the team traveled to both James River High School and Alleghany High School 🏫.

Six more matches remain on the schedule with an even split of 3 in Hillsville and 3 on the road.

The Mother of All Region Road Trips – Hillsville to Covington for some Volleyball 🏐

It’s 123 miles from school 🏫 to school 🏫 and for the Parents and Fans of our Carroll County High Cavilers it comes on the heels of a 99 mile jaunt (each way) to James River High School on Tuesday.

One perk to the trek today is you pass through some Americana places like Eagle Rock , Iron Gate and Alleghany Highlands. The bus pulled in from Hillsville at 4:03pm making for a rather long day for the team and the fan base but hopefully it will be an enjoyable ride home for all involved.

CCHS enters the match with a 12-2 record overall with a 2-1 mark in the Region. The squad will look to complete the Road Week sweep while Alleghany looks to secure its first victory of the season.

Check back for a later post on the actual match with the Varsity taking the Court 20 minutes after the JV match concludes.
