Bassett High graduate 🎓 Jade Hylton is the starting short stop and lead-off hitter for the much improved UVA team. The 5’5 short stop made an immediate impact on the team last season as a Freshman and is now one of the team leaders.
Virginia is hoping to make some noise this week down in Durham as the #4 seed. If they find success I expect Hylton will have a roll in it!

Durham, North Carolina is the Hot 🔥 Spot for the Atlantic Coast Conference the next four days. The Top 10 teams qualified for the event and nine games will take place to Crown 👑 a Champion.
Day #1 is set to consist of two play-in games. #8 Syracuse vs #9 Boston College will be followed by #7-#10, North Carolina and Notre Dame.
First Pitch is set for 1pm & 3:30!

The River States Conference tournament is a double elimination event and we are playing in the first of four games on Thursday.
If we win, we play again at 4 pm on Friday while if we lose its 9am on Friday.
Side note 📝, Carroll County Lady 👩 Cavaliers, or as we call them, the Battling Ben Tickles, prevailed 2-0 over Honaker. The win moves them to 5-1 at 🏡 with two games to reschedule ( Alleghany and Glenvar).

Opening Day in the River States Conference Baseball ⚾️ tournament is set for this Thursday and the action 🎬 gets underway at 9am. Not a typo, first pitch for Game #1 of 4 opening day games is 9:00.
The game day routine starts roughly three hours before first pitch so that puts us at 6am. How do you get your players to adjust their sleep schedules that dramatically ?
The answer is you start the curving process on Tuesday morning 🌄.
The crack of dawn is the expression that folks use when their day is going to have to begin early.
Shawnee State is the #3 seed and we landed the #6 seed in the eight team double elimination field. A win in game one has the team playing at 4pm on Friday and a loss would have the team back in the 9am contest on Friday.
Chillicothe, Ohio is the center of it all this week and the hope is to make a run 🏃♂️ at hanging around until Sunday!
