Field Hockey Game Day 🏑🏒 here in Boone and tonight we welcome a Top 20 program to Jan C Watson Field !

First Touch is at 6pm…

Just spent my five minutes with the visiting Coach and what an impressive Young Lady 👩. Jan Averill (Ay-Fril) has been coaching at Wale Forrest for 33 seasons 👏.

Hopefully the weather is cooperating back on The Hill as Carroll County High School is 75 minutes from hosting the Galax Maroon Tide 🏈🏈

Also, Dakota Walls should be getting ready to rev his engine over at the Kingsport Speedway !

My ties 👔 to Mr. Chuck McGill go back what feels like a lifetime. Chuck took over as the Sports Editor for the Northern Virginia Daily back when I was writing ✍ four or five times a week for them.

  Even though our paths don’t cross as often anymore, I know that Chuck defines the Oneofus.care mentality. Always looking to use his skills for Good, Chuck is a terrific writer, wonderful Husband and loving Father.

  There is little doubt that Chuck will flourish in his new position. How could I possibly know that – because unlike myself, Chuck is incredibly smart and he wouldn’t have gotten involved with something that wasn’t in his comfort zone.

After Ferrum Volleyball 🏐 and App State Field Hockey 🏑 both fell just short at the end, Carroll County and Duke University made it a split for the day. 9pm until 1am – just FUN !

Miss Bunn and Ferrum Volleyball 🏐 are playing twice today at Roanoke College today (Noon & 4 pm).

Appalachian State University Field Hockey 🏑 takes to the road today for the first time, heading up to Richmond to tangle with the Spiders 🕷. Zero responsibility when they’re on the road, just get to be a Fan !

Carroll County High School Football takes the scenic drive 🚗 across US-58 to tangle with the Blue Devils on the gridiron 🏈 at 7pm. The Cavaliers are 1-0 and looking forward to getting back on to the field.

The fourth contest is a tough one because it involves Duke University playing football in Chicago against Northwestern. It’s a long time since I wasn’t in the stands when Duke played Football and that streak might end tonight.

See, its not everyday that ones wife turns 60. Today is her day but there’s a Non-Stop flight ✈️ from Greensboro to O’Hare at 6pm that lands in plenty of time for the kickoff.
