Year one post The Hill, Alyssa Ervin had to make a humongous adjustment by going from an All-State player to someone who needed to fight for playing time at Elon University. Playing for a new coach and with a different level of teammates.
Last season, Christy’s Kiddo took her skill set to South Carolina, where Pierre Curtis is trying hard to build a next level program at Furman University. Ervin was one of many new faces on the Paladins roster, but then Sophomore didn’t hold back in hopes of fitting in.
The opening round victory down in Asheville last season at the Southern Conference tournament showcased the young lady that led Carroll County High School basketball to consecutive state titles. Ervin left, no doubt that she was built for the next level !
The biggest difference in year three is that Ervin is very familiar with her coach, her teammates, and her role on her team. The best is yet to come, and her mindset knows it !
Now, don’t sleep on the Bulls of South Florida. USF hosted a talented Duke University team last season and handled a team that would go on to reach the Elite Eight.
The team will return to Travelers Rest and lace them up on Wednesday evening at 5pm and again at 11:00 am on Friday morning.
