Excited about this..
The State of Utah has seven D1 Colleges spread across the Beehive State. The next four days are going to be all about Softball at Karl Brooks Field.
Three games Thursday, four on both Friday and Saturday then it wraps up with two on Sunday…..
This will just be one ongoing post 📫 on this…

Opening game has the Big 12’s Utah Utes as the home team and the Southern Utah University Thunderbirds as the visitors.
Utah plates four in the bottom of the first inning. The Utah get four runs 🏃♂️ on six hits, each of which was a laser shot.
Really appreciate the 16 Palm 🌴 Trees that surround the outfield fence !
The Ladies in Purple have arrived ! The Weber State Wildcats play ▶️ in Game 2 at 12:30 pm
Can’t help but think about both Rick Nester and Alan Knight are in the middle of tryouts back home.
End of 3rd, still 4-0
Middle of the 5th and the Utes still protecting their 4-0 lead (11:11 MT)
SUU has held their own since the bottom of the 1st, now Top 6, still 4-0.
Thunderbirds hit a solo bomb 💣 that landed in the top of one of the Palm 🌴 Trees ! 4-1
Mid 6th, 4-1 and the temperature 🌡is rising. 64 on its way to 80.
11:43 – off to the 7th inning….
Thunderbirds have been down to their last strike three times and each time they extended the game with a single! UU goes to the bullpen. Anither base knock and RBI…we got ourselves a ballgame.

The Utes bats remain hot 🔥 and they lead the Wildcats 7-1 in the fourth inning
Sitting behind the left field fence for Game 2 and just had a 2-run Homer land just over my shoulder…9-1 now and I should have caught that one.
Headed to Top 5 (1:55), Utes leading 9-1
2:01 pm – Utah Tech players are in the Hpuse
Mid 5th, same score. Quick observation, the Utes looked a foot taller than the T-Birds 🐦 and the same is true for the Wildcat players when they stand next to the Utes.
2:11 – 9/10/1, 1/4/0 is your 5-inning final under the 8-run Mercy Rule.
3:00 – Game 3 start time, final one of the day. Four each on both Friday and Saturday then two on Sunday.
Game 3 – Utah Tech vs Weber State
Wildcats are having themselves quite the inning here in the top of the second! Five Cats have crossed the dish….make that 8 as a 3-run bomb 💣 lands at our feet.
The conversation of the Day is happening with the Mother 👩 of the Wildcats Head Coach ! Neat, Neat Lady with plenty of insight into the game !
45 minutes in, we have played 2 innings and its Wildcats 9, Trailblazers 1…..
Weber State added four more in the top of the fifth, now 14 – 1. Wild part is that the Trailblazers run ruled the Wildcats just last week.

Fun Fact, Coaches Mom graduated in the same year as I did, way back in 1981…
Daughter / Coach played four years of Softball up in Provo for the Cougars of Brigham Young University.

How talented was the Wildcats Coach back in the Day at BYU ?
Why does any of this matter ? I consider myself an Ambassador to the game of Softball and if I can move the needle for the Sport with anything that I write ✍, it will be written !!!!
