Remembering when Carroll County High School 🏫 used to play Basketball πŸ€….January 22nd and 23rd seem like a lifetime ago for the Cavaliers

Ryan Phillips and our Junior Varsity Boys πŸ‘¦ Basketball team traveled over to Galax back on Thursday, January 22nd to play the Maroon Tide. The next day Anthony Barnes, Howard Mayo and Hailey Cushman took our other Basketball teams up to Buchanan for contests at James River High School.

Not playing a game for two full weeks during a season has to feel like a lifetime to the players, coaches and fans. But here we are, on the edge of that mark now.

Kevin DeHaven has been way to busy trying hard to keep four schedules straight and that is not counting the Swimming and Wrestling activities.

Boys πŸ‘¦ Varsity team

Each of our four coaching staffs will have to hit the ground running πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ once the games restart because they will be stacked up in a manner that will look like the Middle School schedule back in the fall.

Varsity Boys 7-9, Varsity Girls 3-9, JV Boys 4-11, JV Girls 7-5 are the marks headed down the home stretch and each group still has plenty to play for.

The Seniors on both Varsity squads are going to be finishing up their time on The Hill.

Callie Harris and Madison Coleman still have plenty of Basketball πŸ€ left before they head outside to play Soccer and Softball respectively.

On the Boys side, Trace Reavis, Kyle Bunn, Isaiah Leagans and Isaiah Easter are looking forward to the home stretch of their final seasons.

Cavalier Basketball πŸ€, returning to a Gym near you, hopefully any day now, fingers crossed 🀞

It’s time for the Morning πŸŒ„ Brew as we prepare for Tuesday, February 3rd !

Will attempt to confirm the status of the Swim πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ meet
Howard Mayo and his Motovational Nugget will appear here shortly.
Travis Osborne and his Bible Verse of the Day :

Luke 6:45

King James Version

Luke 6:45  A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Have yourself a Blessed Day πŸ™Œ!

Welcome πŸ™ to the most impressive Basketball πŸ€ atmosphere that I didn’t know existed ! The students at Utah State University sure do put on a show in support of their Aggies !!

The number of college basketball arenas I have visited over the years is now well north of 200 and each experience has been unique. But nothing had me prepared for our Saturday morning πŸŒ„ visit to the Gymnasium in Logan, Utah

Utah State University currently resides in the Mountain West Conference but is headed to the New look Pac – 12 next season and Aggie fans are excited about the pending move.

Was the atmosphere fueled by the opponent being rival San Diego State ? Was it fueled by the game being a showdown for the MWC regular season crown ? Quite possibly but regardless the reason why, it was AMPED.

Lin’s Jump Ball ( the one up top was hers as well)

How close is Logan, Utah to the Idaho border ? Close enough that you can smell the potatoes πŸ₯”. The city averages over 50 inches of snow ❄ per winter.

You will notice that the attendance was 100% capacity for the game and there’s no doubt that the crowd helped create the victory for the Aggies!

The game was an 11:00 am local time tip so it could be showcased on CBS sports as a National game but the early start didn’t prevent the Student section from bringing the energy.

Current UVA Head Coach, Ryan Odum spent two seasons at the helm of the Aggies before  returning to the East Coast. The UVA aspect was interesting because of the full circle πŸ”΅ loop of going from the school that made history back in 2018 by defeating the #1 seed to a few years later returning to coach said team.

If you ever find yourself in the vicinity of Logan, Utah in the winter time there are two things you should do. Say hello πŸ‘‹ to the giant Bull out front and get a ticket 🎟 to see the Aggie students support their team !
