Sometimes when one is searching for Goodness and Kindness you have to kick the can just a bit to find one that jumps off the page. Other times you just have to stand in the vicinity of Mr. Casey Burcham.
Inclusion, Focus, Drive, Old School Kindness – Yes Ma’am, No Sir, Please and Thank You π.
Casey and I are playing out the same play book π and it just warms the heart β€.
Casey Burcham and Steve Combs are focused on the future of Baseball βΎοΈ in Carroll County for generations to come. The dynamic duo and their support team are hard at work this Holiday weekend down at the Flea Market trying to continue to raise the remaining funds needed to cover the cost of the new Indoor Hitting facility planned for Carroll County High School.
The efforts were jump started by the great turnout at the Alumni Game but the plans and fund raising started well before then. It’s been fun to watch the process play out and it will be even more so when the Alumni Game festivities move down the Boulevard to Cavalier Park next month (Sunday, October 6th).
The funds raised on 10/6/24 will also be going towards the Building fund as well. In the Spring time we have 11 teams (including JV) competing for the same audience and at times it can appear that its every Man / Woman for themselves.
That’s the somewhat hidden beauty with the Indoor facility, it will benefit both the Baseball program and the Softball program. So, in the spirit of Elections, please know that assisting Casey & Combs raise funds right not is also going to benefit Softball as well !
It’s a Win, Win and in today’s World π we need all of those we can get !
If you are in town today, Please stop by the Baseball βΎοΈ teams headquarters and support Casey & Combs (& Friends).
Here’s hoping that everyone π will be able to enjoy their Holiday with Friends and Family πͺ. Labor Day weekend has a significant impact on a large number of people for a number of reasons.
Here in Carroll County its the second of the book end Holiday weekends where Hillsville hosts a massive Flea Market. The amount of money π° brought in through the process is substantial and a number of groups raise funds by parking cars π is impressive.
. Labor Day is also the unofficial end of the Golf β³ season for the casual golfer ποΈββοΈ. Out here at Olde Mill the rentals are full of people trying to make sure that they sneak in a few more rounds. The diehard Golfer will play anytime there’s not snow on the ground.
For those of you that live in the Fashion world π there’s something about not wearing White after Labor Day ??? Good Tip if you pay attention to those things – me, I am happy when my socks match.
Labor Day also marks the opening of the College Football πππ season !
For others is just a paid day off and we can all appreciate that.
What ever you do today, I hope you get to share it with someone you care about !
