
Head Coach Kayla Nester’s JV team played a near perfect opening quarter in Buchanan Monday night and then coasted toβThree Rivers District victory. The opening run πββοΈ was 20-2 with the final score landing at 46-13.
βRaylee Goins started out with the hot π₯ hand β, scoring six of her 10 points in the opening 7:00. Kayla Young took over from there scoring 13 of her game high 15 in the middle two quarters. As impressive as the offenseβwas from start to finish, the defense was even better as they held the home team to quarters of 0, 2 & 4.
βAny doubt in regards to the outcome were washed away when the Cavaliers opened the second half on a 13-0 run, pushing the lead out to 35-7.
βCC Mitchell finished the night with 8 points, scoring three baskets down the stretch for the Cavaliers. Laynie-Jo Leonard dropped four points and Faith Clontz finished with three points.
βAll 11 Cavaliers played and eight of them scored. Natalie Burress, Kenzie McMillan and Hayden Heflin each added 2 points.
βCCHS will continue its quest to finish up in one of the top two spots in the District on The Hill on Wednesday before heading to Patrick County on Thursday night.
