The Fab Four and Families

The season schedule πŸ“… has been somewhat limited for a number of reasons but the team is looking forward to playing against the Panthers, just 51 miles from the tennis 🎾 courts on The Hill.

Talley is hoping to continue his playing days beyond his time at SWCC but first things first, it’s match day at Ferrum!

Carroll County High School 🏫 completes its Easter break today, the fourth day of no activity. The baseball ⚾️ teams will be the first ones back, playing games on Tuesday evening.

Monday night πŸŒ™ our Tennis 🎾 teams faced off with the talented Bobcats and the outcomes were not what we were hoping for. Effort was there but both squads fell short against a mighty opponent.

Carroll County Tennis 🎾 Coaches, Greg Talley and Martin McKenzie.

Here’s the report from the Girls side of the net :

Girls Tennis fell last night against a very tough Radford squad 9-0.

Very proud of how the girls played through adversity.

Singles:Seed 1-Emma lost 8-0

Seed 2-Erika lost 8-0

Seed 3-Alexis lost 8-1

Seed 4-Khloe lost 8-4

Seed 5-Maiya lost 8-0

Seed 6-Tiffany lost 8-0

Doubles:Seed 1- Emma and Erika lost 8-1

Seed 2-Alexis and Khloe lost 8-3

Seed 3-Maiya and Tiffany lost 8-0

On the Boys πŸ‘¦ side of things the Cavaliers fared a little better as Jabin Talley and Ethan Richardson both won their singles matches and then combined to win their doubles match.

The 3 points earned by the duo would prove to be the only three points the Cavaliers would score on the night πŸŒ™.

Radford clearly plays Tennis 🎾 in the same manner that Glenvar plays Soccer ⚽️ which is at an incredibly high level for both the Boys πŸ‘¦ and the Girls πŸ‘§.

Sometimes the final score cannot measure the strength of your opponent on a given night. It will be interesting to see how the Bobcats fare in the post season.

Thank you once again to our Tennis Father / Coaches for their efforts and for checking in.
