Student Athletes change sports in Rec League, Middle School and even High School π« but seldom is the transition from one sport to another made on a College campus.
But there is nothing normal about the middle daughter of Shelia and Marion Harris. All three of these young Ladies have been saddled with a nickname and Natalie is Jan Brady. If you’re not old enough to remember the Brady Bunch, that will have no relevance to it.
Jan / Natalie followed Big Sis, Adrienne ” The Future ” Harris – McGuire to Emory and Henry. Playing Volleyball π for the Wasps started out as the plan but after one season, she moved on to the next challenge.
Attending a LaCrosse Final Four a few years back, I was fortunate to pick up a stick and try to use it. Luckily, the person standing behind me that day had a sense of a humor versus a good lawyer.
Natalie isn’t playing Rec LaCrosse or Club LaCrosse, she is playing D2 College LaCrosse with no natural tie to the sport!

Back of the DL, disabled list, not the down low, she is back in action today and jumped right back into the starting lineup.
Neat young Lady π© who is going places and welcomes a new challenge !!!
Wasps storm to a 12 – 5 victory over the Ferrum College Panthers and will return to action π¬ tomorrow.

Enjoy the rest of the season !

Ron Cochran has wore many hats in our efforts to help folks get the word out and my favorite part of our relationship has been his quick wit and dry sense of humor.
We reconnected at the Special Olympics Basketball Classic π as I was hosting and he was the ” Lead Official “. Both Ron and I are card carrying members of the Vickey Ritchie Fan Club and do whatever we can to assist her in any manner we can.
When I stopped by the shop today to discuss changes I wanted to make to our kickoff for our Foul Ball contest, I had my very first conversation with Mrs Bissonnette. First thing to know is how to correctly pronounce her first name and here’s what we worked out. Shiang-ling should be said as Shawn – G – ling.
Second thing to know, this young Lady π© has it going on ! Sharp as the day is long and is willing to give it back to Ron. See, Ron needs that in his work life and now he has it. The focus and mindset of Mrs Bissonnette is going to take her places and her efforts, like ours are centered around making life better for youth !

We will now have three nightly sponsors for our Foul Ball contest and here is the breaking news to the biggest change.
The system we were using prior to next Wednesday was to include the first 26 fans who bought a ticket π. It dawned on me that we were leaving out on diehard fans, the ones that have ” Season Tickets ” or as they are called – Passes.
This year, we will have a separate document with numbers from 0 to 25 on it and it will go to the first 26 people who enter Cavalier Park ! You do have to be present to win at the end of the night but if you do, you will leave with a CCHS custom T-shirt π, a OneofUs.Care Frisbee β an item from The Goods !!!

Apologies for not getting this out sooner but the date was in question.

Any day that allows me to make reference to both Stephen Puckett and Travis Osborne in the same story is a great one in my World π.
Cutting across The Hill on my drive back from West Virginia, I ran into Travis on a ladder and with his work clothes on. Sadly, I cost him some daylight as we swapped a few stories about life. He mentioned that when he reached out to Mr. Puckett to confirm the proper colors, the answer he received was, ” If you are willing to donate your skill set, I will provide you with the paint. “
It was time to get back to Laurel Fork in order to get Lin to her next appointment so we said our Goodbyes π with the promise that I would swing back and capture his artwork !
While this might not ring the bell for most pepeople, know its a OneofUs.Care type of moment….
