The number of college basketball arenas I have visited over the years is now well north of 200 and each experience has been unique. But nothing had me prepared for our Saturday morning π visit to the Gymnasium in Logan, Utah

Utah State University currently resides in the Mountain West Conference but is headed to the New look Pac – 12 next season and Aggie fans are excited about the pending move.

Was the atmosphere fueled by the opponent being rival San Diego State ? Was it fueled by the game being a showdown for the MWC regular season crown ? Quite possibly but regardless the reason why, it was AMPED.

How close is Logan, Utah to the Idaho border ? Close enough that you can smell the potatoes π₯. The city averages over 50 inches of snow β per winter.

You will notice that the attendance was 100% capacity for the game and there’s no doubt that the crowd helped create the victory for the Aggies!
The game was an 11:00 am local time tip so it could be showcased on CBS sports as a National game but the early start didn’t prevent the Student section from bringing the energy.

Current UVA Head Coach, Ryan Odum spent two seasons at the helm of the Aggies before returning to the East Coast. The UVA aspect was interesting because of the full circle π΅ loop of going from the school that made history back in 2018 by defeating the #1 seed to a few years later returning to coach said team.

If you ever find yourself in the vicinity of Logan, Utah in the winter time there are two things you should do. Say hello π to the giant Bull out front and get a ticket π to see the Aggie students support their team !
