Our athletic director, being out in Omaha with his family for the College World Series, brings back a flood of memories of my early trips out to Nebraska but it doesn’t help on who to pull for in UNC – WVU ???

We wear their logo on our hats at West Virginia Tech University, so point one goes to the Mountaineers.

But, being that the Atlantic Coast Conference is fighting to stay relevant in a number of sports, including baseball, it’s hard not to want the Tar Heels to defend our honors.

Being that I am watching πŸ‘€ the game outside of New Bern, North Carolina, tie goes to The Heels. The winner of this game jumps firmly into the driver’s seat πŸ’Ί in regards to reaching the Championship series.

The game has moved to the top of the 7th inning and remains knotted at 2-2. UNC jumped out to an early lead, and WVU has answered back with single runs.

Game 2 tonight is the polar opposite of the opener between Troy and Ole Miss. Troy sent the Rebels packing by winning a game(12-8) that often resembled a Church League softball game. Troy and West Virginia are both enjoying their initial trips to the College Baseball version of the Promised Land.

The art of borrowing a photo shows the view of the family for the game. No one should be shocked by the fact that our first family arrived on the early side.

Does a game feel different when you are watching on television πŸ“Ί and you know someone who is watching from the stands ? It does for me, and the fun includes trying hard to pick them out of crowd.

Omaha and Oklahoma City are both destinations for many that in regards to college diamonds πŸ’Ž but the real fun begins with just how creative one can get in regards to fun and food away from the  park ???

What a great play by the WVU catcher on the sac bunt attempt in the bottom of the 7th. Two oops defensively by WVU have set the table for the Tar Heels. Never want to see a game decided by an error. Just like that, Heels have a 2-run triple.

Trip number one involved little children who probably have minimal to zero memory of it, and it was at the old ballpark.

The second time around took place back in 2011, and Head Coach Alan Knight was along for the ride. Great memories, which included an impromptu trip up to South Dakota for a round of golf ⛳️. Why, because I told him that if we did, he would have a story to tell when he returned to Page County because not everyone knows where South Dakota is on a map…..

Just saw Eric Church again. He looks much happier now that the score is 5-2!

DeHaven has been around the game of baseball ⚾️ his entire life. I’m excited about the fact that he is out enjoying the show, and he has his family with him ! It made watching the game a little more fun, and if he were to end up in South Dakota, he might run into Tammy Tobler!

I feel better now because his Mamma couldn’t spot them either.

The answer to why care about others that aren’t kinfolk has finally come full circle as destination Atlantic Beach, North Carolina has finally been reached !

For this one, we turn back the clock ⏰️ to the early 1980s, when life was full of challenges that would be hard to comprehend.

Young, married, and trying hard to find ways to feed your children is the condensed version, but Lin and I would need to find a bag πŸŽ’ of cash πŸ’Έ just to make our way to being poor.

Married too early and lacking any type of education between us, we relyed on Prayer πŸ™ and any carrot πŸ₯• we could put on a stick. One of the challenges to that was not eating the carrot.

To say that we weren’t in a good place would be an understatement! But music 🎢 was free, and Jimmy Buffett was singing about exotic places. This led me to go to a local trophy πŸ† shop and spending $20.00 that would have been better spent on groceries.

We created a trophy that the top part was a ⛡️⛡️⛡️ sailboat, and the engraved part read as follows…

Stay positive, and you will make it to Atlantic Beach ⛱️, North Carolina!

That trophy was part of our life for over forty years. It wasn’t until we left Orcas Island that we said our goodbyes.

Everything in life is about timing and God’s plans. Being that I had never stepped foot on Atlantic Beach ⛱️, today was the perfect time to do it.

Through the grace of God, Lin and I reached a level beyond our expectations, and as promised, we did as much as we could to help others.

Today’s Morning πŸŒ„ Brew is all about the Power πŸ”‹in random acts of kindness !

Each morning, Travis Osborne wakes ⏰️ up and chooses a Bible Verse to send me through Messenger. Then I attach one of five photos πŸ“Έ of him / his family and declare that the day has begun.

Proverbs 14:26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

Sometimes, all a person needs to know is that they are not alone !

This week is The Coast of Carolina Week, and the challenge will be to see πŸ‘€ how many different ways one can get on the water πŸ’§????

Take the extra second and show kindness in the direction of others ! You just never know what impact you could have on someone else !!

Have a Blessed Day πŸ™ŒπŸ˜‡
